I seen in a comment that you said that you’ve lost a few dreads due to thinning, I suggest you get a crochet hook and maybe combine a few to make them medium size so they stay strong! Or as others have suggested, grow your roots out for a little bit. Crochet hook will repair the entire dread though.

@@dheze2313 to avoid it, I’d say take longer between retwists. All the tension on your scalp makes your dreads thin out, your base of your dread needs to be thicker than the rest. So a retwist once/twice a month would be good.
