I'm looking forward to watching all this. I do wonder if a $25K ute really considered cheap though? I've seen a few others complain that it's a same old same old thing, and while I get you're a business and gotta go where the majority of money is, it would have been good to see something different, even if it was just a 4.0 Petrol build rather than another diesel. But it's your money, your channel and I just appreciate the regular content. Keep it up lads

@@stevegraham3817 unless your my son, whom got his for free from his sister as it had burnt a piston. The original motor, her 1st replacement motor both burnt piston, totally stuffing each block, so as it wasn't her cup of tea any longer she wanted a Ranger. Offered $6K trade any where she went (so much for holding value) so she elected to buy a Ranger, keep the Hilux and give to her struggling sister in law. Well hubby driving it over to sister in law's and ha presto, her 2nd replacement motor loses power and begins clanking. He drives it to mechanics yep no compression on no 3 gone, another burnt piston. They don't want to replace with a 3rd motor, so my son says I'll have it. He's replaced the motor, gearbox, fitted with front diff lock and has finally become reliable by all counts. Saying it was free is not correct, it cost him a motor intially, then after some use, a gearbox. He's a diesel mechanic, so all labour has been his own, well I've helped too. This is from a unbreakable hilux. It now has 360K on it and in total is on it's 3rd replacement engine, 4th motor including the original. Mind you, his 105 is on its third donk too, but it has well over 500K on it.

Catch cans can get blocked, leak and also cause pressure issue that will blow out oil seals etc. EGR delete is the better way to go. It good to see another build series after sooty MkII, my suggestion would probably be; be more sensible on what mod’s outside of the vehicle. What I mean is not going all out on the budget like trays and steel canopies. I mean if I got a N70 like that I’d probably keep the tub and canopy and just work it up from there (which is exactly what I’m doing right now with my ranger when I got it secondhand).

We brought a ute identical in 2019 right down to price, Kms, and colour. To set it up as a tourer we upgraded suspension, bull bars front and back, dual battery system, draw system, roof rack, new rims and tyres and a new head unit plus a long-range fuel tank. We live in NZ so all the work was done by the various suppliers, making it quite an expensive exercise, no change out of 25k. I liked the engine mods so I might not have finished yet. Due to covid it has hardly be around the block never mind around Aussie. Tickets booked for next year, cannot wait.
