The girls know best on who are good both in skills and attitude. They know what went on in their one year of training behind the scenes. The fact that 14 out of 16 girls wanted Sophia on their team means they know she is the best ! Not to mention she has a huge fan base that is a key element to success of any group !

The girls and the public already know she's a shoe-in for a debut based on the votes. It's a girl group they're forming which means you don't necessarily have to stand out all the time to win the game, but to be a real team player through and through to help the whole group shine.

How they structured the elimination part was brutal, its so sad to see the ones eliminated crying whilst the rest of the names are being called out. 😢 Also the way they ended the episode sets the tone of the rest of the competition

It is already given that these girls are skilled! they are either great in dancing or singing and for a few of them both. What I like about Sophia apart from that she sings and dance well, is that she compliment every group that she is in, she has a likeable personality (validated by the 14 girls who voted for her ), she’s very articulate, and she enjoys her performance.

This was brutal. I think a lot of our concerns about the rankings would've been answered if only the format of this show was similar to other survival shows because we're clearly missing context here. Marquise for one seemed to be the most emotional during the interview (way before the announcement) and we're missing the context as to why. In relation to the performance, we only got to see her during the prep vlogs, then the next thing we see she's sobbing. Does that make sense? I need context. Another example, Sophia's ranking despite being deserving of it, some fans do seem to question it because we aren't given any context on what these girls are like outside of their performances. I'm pretty confident she's good because fan votes aside, the mentors/judges and other contestants themselves spoke highly of her and have consistently been ranking her high. I can see that she does exude this "ace aura" through the videos that they show us but we're often left confined to just slivers of context that otherwise would've been helpful to understand the rankings and eliminations if we're only given enough material to see how the girls perform under pressure, or how they carry themselves within their groups. Who are the leaders? Who are the creatives? Ykwim? These are details that we often overlook on regular survival shows but with it missing, we're often left with questions.

In the case of Samara, she already has a lot of material on the internet as she almost debuted in the now united group precisely to replace another Brazilian member (Any Gabriele). Samara is ready to debut because she already has experience and proof of this was seeing her vocal stability when singing and dancing at the same time. She has a strong and striking presence on stage, and even the member of Le Serafim said this and praised her performance. Another proof of her stage presence is the video that came out of her with TxT's Kai dancing Comeback for More. It's no wonder that Samara has a solid fan base not only in Brazil but in other countries as well.

to all trainees' in DA sophia got my attention the most. idk, she seems really interesting for me than to other trainees. that girl sophia is totally package she's really intelligent and she know how to market herself that's why people easily recognize her talents and skills and it's good thing that she has a good sense of humor and well-spoken person. literally she has the traits that kpop idol like. she had it all hahaha she's the most popular, most love by fans and love by her co. trainees'. so, I can't blame her fellow filo if they really pushing and voted hard for this girl because if my fellow countries just like her extremely talented i won't let ignore her because she deserves to debut and i don't want to regret it. she got my vote, anyway. she has a good personality too and I think she can be a good role model for people.

Most people in this show cares more about vocal and such, which is were ua and emily are lacking (not saying theyre bad singers, they can definietely get the work done) but compared to the rest of the girls they just arent holding up in that area. But we'll see, maybe mission 3 will prove us otherwise

Not all of them were trained by the program, in this case Samara apparently was the last to enter with just a few months to go before the program started... Samara's luck is that she already has experience with these things because she participated in the competition to choose a new member for the Now United group (which was precisely to take the place of another Brazilian member).. She didn't join the group but made it to the final so in a way she has experience and has proven it now by being one of the most stable of you during the singing and dancing mission.

Agreed! Honestly for some people the brutality of the elimination would be traumatizing. Idk who thought this was okay. I mean can you imagine sitting through first how your teammates feel about you with their ranking and then the fan votes and then sitting through having to anxiously wait for your name to be called, along with whether or not you're eliminated? And what was with the dramatic pause before saying if they made it or not? So cruel. They shouldn't have mixed the announcement of the eliminated and the succeeders like that.

Emily & Ua are the best dancers but they’re held back cuz they’re also the worst vocals and bad vocals are more noticeable. Emily & Ua were initially part of my Top 6 in Mission 1 but I had to bump them out once I heard their vocals.

@@seoul_mates i didn't really wanna let her go too 😅 i did a lot of thinking before doing so. i thought about how Sophia said that since Emily's the top dancer, the challenge is for them to get up to her level & improve as a team. So her presence meant a lot as a standard that they're constantly working to match. But on the other hand...her vocals still stuck out like a sore thumb. And it was a little jarring to have her cutesy vocals enter a fierce song. And in the end they're all such good dancers with or without Emily anyways because while I do think Team A did better overall, it was because their vocals were better. They weren't significantly better in the dance. And even in terms of dance, I feel like B did have stronger, sassier moves but what they missed is that they at times had differing energies (cuz the strong & sassy was mostly brought out by Samara 😅) whereas A danced better as a unit. So it wasn't even about them being significantly better in the energy & technicalities which what I would think Emily brought to the table. And watching Megan & Emily's fan cams (since they did the same parts) - while I do believe Emily was better at the dance you still don't notice that right away cuz everyone's strong enough to execute the dance that Emily doesn't clearly stand out. But Megan's vocals are significantly better and you notice that right away. P.S. sorry for the length. i did say i thought about it a lot 😅

0:25 okay seeing your lineup I completely disagree. Although Daniela and Nayoung are it. I don’t see how people can’t see the big picture with having a diverse group of girls and how impactful it can be for girls all over the world. Lara and Sophia have the soul in their voice and the talent to make this group big! Samara is amazingly talented and put in the work. You have to keep in mind we will be listening to the music everything is based off that. Emily is super talented her dancing is amazing but she isn’t a singer and we shouldn’t give her a pass because she can dance. Yoonchae is talented don’t get me wrong but I don’t this this should be her debut luckily she is Korean and can become a trainee or idol if she wants. She is still so young and I think needs more time to grow.

Well said i do agreee! Lara, sophia, samara is literally and going to be assets for this dream academy and deserved debuting hope they'll for sure! Yes Emily is great dancer no doubt but do they really consider only dancer when they have very good dancer + singer better like Daniela and megan highly they'll choose them, and no hate they all ar talented but vocal definitely matters here dancing is skill but by deep training they all can dance vocal won't work in that way!

Karlee and Mei were my favorites out of everyone so I feel sad about this. In the end, I understand the eliminations except for Mei. I agree with you and don't think she should've gone home. I don't remember her feedback from the judges being that negative either? But she had the lowest fan votes. It feels unfair that the most screen time she got was in her elimination video and now the comments are full of people who want to support her now when it's too late. This is the fundamental problem with the show. If they wanted to keep the content minimal to save everything for the Netflix docu then there shouldn't have been fan voting. If they wanted to keep the "Olympics" concept and have fan voting then there should've been waaayyy more content. Another unfair aspect is that Mei mentioned having only been in the DA training program for 2 months. It seems that more girls could audition and join the program up until very recently, while other girls have been training for over a year. (Mei was only there for 2 months but she was that talented and got along that well with the team? Shouldn't that have also been considered?) But regardless, there would generally be a disadvantage if a contestant has been with the other girls for a significantly less time. They would have less training, know everyone less, and would have less screen time. This decision to have auditions open all this time really doesn't make any sense to me. It just kind of feels like the judges has a set few girls that they invested everything into, and some other girls are just seen as/being used as filler. On another note, the way that they do these eliminations is just downright traumatizing, and I feel so bad for all the girls. I realize that these types of survival shows are hard for the contestants no matter what, but it seems like whoever is coming up with the ideas for DA decided to take all the worst concepts and distill it into this one program. Did they get their ideas from a manual on psychological torture? No, apparently they got their inspo from the Olympics. But I must say, I don't remember watching the Olympics and feeling the need to vomit.

Mei and Karlee should've gone through. Karlee pushed through and did the best she could when her vocal cords were so inflamed. The fact that some ppl are voting based on their country is wrong. Its based on talent, etc. I knew Brooklynn wouldn't continue. There was something about her last performance that just didn't make me think she did well. Out of my top 8 I lost 2.

We should all know they are all talented, all of them so for everyone saying choose for talent, I don't understand how you can elaborate on that. Also I love that we are mostly seeing the performances only, tbh, I don't like that survival shows putting so much context at the same time put only that fits a narrative.. If we are choosing, choose based on performance ALONE. Some got so many other reasons why they pick who they want, favorite, country rep, health issue... Tbh, all this factors taking into consideration when picking is so unfair for all of them..The consideration you put on someone takes someone else's effort futile. In the end, stop saying u choosing for talent & etc.. Just be honest, bcuz it's your fave so you voting for it.. What's so hard admitting that & keep throwing many reasons to your picks.. As I said all of them were talented, we're deserving.. It's just about who captures you when they are on that stage, it should be at least what you consider when voting, not everything else. Obviously the girls know each other’s skills more than us viewers who only see the final performances. Yoonchae also said that Sophia is the most skilled, a former trainee also said so. Almost all the girls also picked her to be in their group which clearly indicates her capability.

reason why sophia's top 1 is because she's filipino. kpop is really big in the philippines and this is the first time we're getting a full filipino representative for kpop so this is big for us. A lot of filipinos are tuning in just for her edit: i'm not discrediting her talent. she did well on the missions but she didn't really get to outshine the others and that's why it was confusing for reactors why she's getting the top spots during the votings. im just saying that the support she gets from the filipinos are massive since its a big deal here in the philippines, it was even announced in the local news here.
