Anna, I thought I would share the words on a small panel I saw ‘I rescue fabric trapped in the quilt shop. I’m not a hoarder, I’m a hero.’ So, as a woman of a certain age I’m going shopping this week to continue my quest to become more of a hero. 😂😂😂

Watching your video this morning and at the end when you said, “Don’t talk yourself out of living”, I burst into tears. Obviously I was watching because I am a quilter/cross-stitcher but struggle with stress, anxiety and just being overwhelmed. I needed to hear those words more than you could ever know. Thank you! I have repeated those words in my head so many times today lol. ❤

You are preaching to the choir about second guessing my purchases. I’m 72 and when I see something I want to make I hesitate thinking, I don’t really NEED to get into another big project. Then I think, why not, it gives me such joy to pick fabric, organize the prepping etc, etc. So, I’m getting the quilt and I’m starting it, and in the event I leave it as a UFO, my kids can worry about getting rid of it. Some lucky soul is going to wrap up in one of my originals. ❤❤

I ended up keeping the book, made small hand puppet like ghost quilts for my great grandchildren and read them the book every now and then as they play with their hand puppet ghosts! The pattern for hand puppets came from Julie Cefalu, she teaches at The Granary Quilt Shop here in California. Love the book and puppets!! Love your closing beach video….i too moved after 45 years in Bay Area to very quiet town in Central Valley, Ca. Miss the beach!! Blessings, Dawn

Such fun projects!!! Oh, that little Quilty Ghost book is too cute! I added to my cart for sure! Have a blast on your road trip with the girls LOL. I foresee much laughter and many good times! I'm worried Colleen has no idea what is about to descend upon her LOL. Poor Audrey is worried she will be infected by the quilting bug. Your gift for Robin is precious!!! Cannot wait to see that one all put together. I literally laughed out loud about the possible need to take a Valium before watching. No valium required my dear as YOU are my valium. I instantly smile, calm down, and laugh out loud when I watch your videos. Finally, my husband will tell you that no one can talk me out of living. He says I'm a 60 year old who is living like I'm 20. That's right! You could croak off tomorrow. I'm living for now. I talked about buying a tiny camper when I retire so I can zoom around to retreats and have fun. I think his head exploded and I'm quite sure his eyeballs almost popped out of his head. I laughed so hard I almost choked on my coffee. He knows I change my mind like I change underwear so, I just keep on living (smile). See you soon!!! I'll send you my flight itinerary soon, but Delta has changed it twice! Hugs from NE Ohio.

Morning here in windy cold South Africa. I have to say you brighten my early morning wiith your visit. I sigh need to get back to a bit of quilting. Been resting my fingers for a while. I strained the muscles in all my fingers by pulling a pillow around under someone who is in a wheelchair and had to pull hard. So of course l just overdid it and had to rest them. Luckily they are better by doing light tasks. Anyway that put my quilting on hold. I did however get all my DMC threads all neat in their drawers after the move. Now it feels as if a huge rock has been lifted of my shoulders. Also got my sewing machine serviced and she is back. It felt like l was lost for 3 weeks without her even though I don't use her much. Anyway have fun with all the stitching mischievous musketeers. Huge hugs❤

About all the quilts we leave behind, there is this. I have a friend that does not drink, gamble or have any compulsive disorders. Her children are questioning what they are going to do with all the quilts that she is going to leave behind. The son says because you don’t do any of the above, that is your right mother. go on and Quilt! In response to the other two daughters, my friend says to leave them at the end of the church pew during her funeral. Anyone that wants one can take one. The funny thing about that now is that the children are now judging her quilts by, are they front row, quilts, or back row quilts!😂😂😂😂😂😂

And I’m actually only 53! Also I just broke my foot and had to have surgery eight weeks ago and I am forever grateful that I live in a one story! Question - I bought an embroidery kit for a table runner that has the embroidery design around all four sides and not in the middle of the runner. I know you always use SF-101 to back your embroidery pieces, but I am wondering if I should just put the SF-101 on the outside edges where the designs are or just put SF-101 on the whole back. It seems wasteful to put it all over the whole back when only the edges will be embroidered, but I wonder if it will look funny if it is thicker on the sides than in the middle. I do plan to back the runner with a pretty fabric when all done. Do you have any thoughts or tips for me? Should I do anything differently?
@quiltroadies16954 ай бұрын
I know it is a waste but I would be inclined to put it on the whole back or at least add a second layer to the center but because I am lazy I would just do the whole back🤔😂❤️
