to be honest, I've never heard of T-Lab before.... but the frame looks amazing and seems very well made... And the build is perfect! Good job!

T-LAB is a Montreal, QC, Canada based company that focuses on Titanium only frames. Their finish options are somewhat unusual as I believe they offer 3 different finishes. I have never seen this type of “sand blast” finish on a Ti frame before. Nice.

Topnotch 😊 The flatshaped top tube is just purrrrfect! Torsion reduced to a minimum! 👌👌👌 UCI didnt jump out their socks for that?

Love seeing your approach to building these bikes, also can you please tell me the code on the Shimano tool you use to tighten the lock rings on the disc rotors please. Cheers

Hello T-lab: Can you put a Dura-ace 12 speed together without any cables showing. I hear that all brake and gear cables can run down the head tube?

Fantastic looking bike. Two questions: 1) What is the final build weight. 2) What would be the final cost of this build with the SRAM Force Group Set and the Enve Wheels? Thank you.
@AndreasIhm
@AndreasIhm 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Steve, I’ll be honest, I have build that bike such a long time ago, I can’t remember the weight. It sure was heavier than a carbon frame. Regarding the price: the best way to know the price would be to contact t-lab. The customers bring me their bike to assemble them, so I rarely am aware of pricing. (Unless it is a Open cycles build) Tha ks for watching and thanks for your questions :)

whys the down tube oval at the bb? maybe to use a smaller tube to save weight?
@AndreasIhm
@AndreasIhm 2 жыл бұрын
That would be a good question to ask T-Lab. Maybe they explain their choice of tubing on their website. I would think this represents their desire to make the bb area stiffer. Thanks for watching!
@timtaylor9590
@timtaylor9590 2 жыл бұрын
@@AndreasIhm well yes it will be stiffer but they could use a round tube to make it stiffer. so possibly compliance over bumps while keeping its lateral stiffness. although the triangle design doesnt flex much if any at all.
@bengt_axle
@bengt_axle 2 жыл бұрын
For stiffness but also to distinguish the bike in the competitive marketplace. Tube shaping is what T-lab does that is different from Moots or Litespeed. The founders are from the now defunct GURU brand. They have a lot of experience with custom steel and Titanium.
@timtaylor9590
@timtaylor9590 2 жыл бұрын
yea thats true, compliance and stiffness where its needed. thing is the triangles arent very compliant if at all. one thing it does is reduce the tube size while being able to support the entire width of the bb. most compliance on frames come from the seat post if not a built in suspension design on the frame

Nice bike / video! As a mechanic, do you think wireless groupset are a good idea? Would you put one on your bike? Are you happy when you see one on a bike you are working on? Or more trouble than it's worth?
@AndreasIhm
@AndreasIhm 3 жыл бұрын
That is a subject for a whole video! Not sure how to answer that quickly. Electronic groupsets have been around long enough now so most shops should be comfortable working on them. To me, it makes no difference at all. I do ride a di2 groupset on my gravel bike and I don’t think i’d go back to a mechanical groupset on that specific bike.

Question: are the forks in carbon and do you use the same fork for 54 cm as well as 62cm road frames?
@AndreasIhm

The fork is a carbon fork. For more specifics, you can contact T-lab directly. Thanks for watching!

Are the welds high quality? - nice and uniform?
@AndreasIhm

This would not be to me to judge as I am not a professional welder. However; T-lab was founded by people who have loads of experience with titanium tubing. These are high quality frames for sure!

nice looking bike - hella expensive tho, no where near in line with other well known brands like Litespeed and that brake hose routed on TOP of the non-drive side is just ugly imo.
