Adam driver as Snape & Benedict Cumberbatch as Voldemort would be an absolute 10/10 casting. I think only these two actors can do justice to those roles. In my opinion… NO ONE CAN REPLACE ALAN RICKMAN AS SEVERUS SNAPE!! HE WAS THE ONLY SEVERUS SNAPE!! But I do admit that Adam Driver could make a decent Severus Snape, just not nearly as good as Alan Rickman's performance as Severus Snape. No disrespect to the people who are involved in anyway with this new Harry Potter series. I'm just expressing my opinion. I'm definitely going to watch this when it comes out. Here's some perfect casting; Peter Gadiot - Snape John Bradley West - Hagrid Helen Mirren - McGonagall Ian McKellen - Dumbledore Ian Hart - Quirrel (which he played originally), but could also play Lupin or Wormtongue, with his acting range But no americans. Americans BUTCHER the Brittish accent... The ònly one I would agree with, would be Peter Dinklage as Flitwick. But I think he might be too big for a role relatively small like that

I also pictured Tom Hiddleston as Lucius. Tilda Swinton... more like Trelawney to me. Idris Elba can be Kingsey. Ewan McGregor as Lupin can be better than Luke Ewans in my opinion. Emilia Clarke as Tonks? That was my idea as well!! Amazing! It fits her actual personality in real life, so it could work or be just too easy. Paul Bettany... maybe better than Ewan McGregor as Lupin, and then we can get Ewan for Sirius. Andy Serkis as Peter Pettigrew. Hugh Grant as Cornelius is fine. Ian McKellan is too old already for a series. He was the first choice for Dumbledore and turned it down anyway so he might not be thrilled to do it. Charles Dance... maybe as a Grindelwald in prison or a more villanous role. If only Robert Pattinson wasn't Cedric... he could have been a great Snape. What if we get Jude Law for old Dumbledore?

Michael Caine is 90 years old, could be 93 before this show even premiers, and supposed to go on for 7 seasons. We probably shouldn't expect the guy playing Dumbledore to be as old as Dumbledore. Also, Steven Merchant is 6'7". He's as tall as Michael Jordan.

The only reason you want Adam Driver as Snape is probably because when you watched epispde 7 and Kylo took his helmet of for the first time your brain instantly snapped to the puppet pals melody at least that was the case for me. You cant replace Rickman with nobody.

I think Martin Freeman (or even Ewan McGregor as a second option) would actually make a great Dumbledore. Right hair for what he would have had at a younger age, young enough to carry the season through and would be easy for them to play his flashbacks.

If they even get to season three of this show I think it would be really cool to see Gary Oldman's son, Charlie Oldman, play Sirius Black, assuming ofc that Charlie can act. Yes I know Ben Barnes is the most popular fancast but the man is 41 so if we're going more for age accuracy by the time they get the season three Charlie, who's currently 24 years old, will probably be in his early 30s and when we first meet Sirius in the books he's 33 so it could work. Do I still think it's too soon for a reboot and will be weird seeing new faces? Yes absolutely! Let's wait a another decade or two it's only been 12 years since Deathly Hallows Part 2 came out! Or delve into other era of the Wizarding world like the Hogwarts founders, the Marauders, Tom Riddle's story, etc. However i'm not completely against a show about the Golden Trio era bc then we could see things that didn't make it into the movies like SPEW, Peeves, Winky, Ginny having a personality, ROn not being a jerk, Harry being sassy, etc.

I always pictured Ewan Macgregor as Lupin, Hugh Grant as Lockhart and, as weird as it sounds, Dame Edna as Umbridge when I read the books (before the films came out). The only truly perfect casting choices the movies did was with Dumbledore (Richard Harris's version; Michael Gambon sucked centaur balls and should have been replaced with Peter O'Toole), McGonagall, Hagrid, Snape (although a little too much in control of his derision and angry outbursts), Voldemort and Hermione. Everyone else... didnt quite hit the mark for me.

@@frankcarlosanaliza Sirius was ok, but the directors of most of these films did a lazy job instructing the actors in how the scenes in the films should reflect the scenes in the books. Dumbledore's reaction to finding Harry's name in the Goblet of Fire is the number one fuck up; in the books he's calm and collected as he asks Harry if he put his name in the cup, but in the movie he nearly attacks Harry while raving like a madman on too much cocaine.
