Although it doesn't seem like a "bad" ending, I think it's more of a wake up call to Dadsona, kinda setting in reality. You can't be a dad forever, but you can be one heck of a dad in spirit, even if you end up alone or not.

The bad thing is I relate to Amanda actually. My mom has been raising me a bit too keenly that I'm paranoid about actually being able to raise myself. I just graduated and now I have to tackle the adult life but I seriously don't know how. Although I know my mom meant well and is only caring about me, I wish she was better at teaching me to become independent and not dote so much. She also doesn't seem to understand the fact I'm an adult now and I should be able to make my own decisions and speak for myself.

Pastel Witch, I don't think so. I was raised by my mother as well, because my father bailed out when he found out that she was pregnant. It must've been so hard for her, being so young and a single mother. She did everything she could to raise me well and protect me, and I love her, but now I just don't know how to handle myself. This doesn't mean she was abusive towards me, it just means that she cares too much and tried to be a mom and a dad.

Just imagine sometime after Dadsona's spouse dies and little Amanda is asleep(or somewhere else) and the Dadsona is repeating this over and over because the love of their life is dead and being a single parent is very hard. It's very noticeable in the game that Amanda is pushing you to socialize and make friends with others that aren't her, so this ending isn't too surprising, but still very sad. I'll just take one of the happier endings please and thank you.

It's not really a bad ending. More like a realistic ending when some adults turn 18 and for some single parents. But anyway I love how this game has different types of endings that are not just "I ended up with this dad". It has layers with the daughter too. I may have to buy this myself.

Coddling your child too much is never a good thing, so this ending shows that well enough. People need to be able to grow, to live without. It's not easy realizing just how much you depend on a person, because when they're gone even the good memories will feel bittersweet.

That's weird - from what I've read you have to be inconsiderate to her to get the 'bad' ending, and then during that ending she tells you you need to stop trying to be her best friend and give her some independence. That ending seems really inconsistent with how you have to actually behave to get it.

I think the idea is that, since she hasn’t been able to rely on you as much throughout the game as she did beforehand, she’s realizing how lost she is without you and that college life is going to be more of the same. The poor game behavior after a lifetime of Best Friend Dad is a rude awakening for her.

But I was kinda surprised with Amanda's dialogue... she's scared of school & it almost sounded like she blamed her fear on her father & the fact that he tried to be a good dad & close to her. If she felt suffocated & wanted independence, too bad she didn't talk to him about it before. But I guess that's her immaturity & lack of self-understanding & communication ability combined with his perhaps over-protectiveness as a single parent. Sad, but every change is an opportunity.

But they're very suffocating, and I'm in my senior year. Just this year I was allowed to stay over at a friend's house, and it hasn't happened yet. Sometimes you just deal with this out of fear of their reaction as well as to not hurt them. Different scenarios, but you could say she worries for his feelings as well. But those are my two cents. (I can't remember why that's a thing)

This ending...I do appreciate this ending. I like the good ending better because their relationship is so cool. This one with both Joseph and Amanda bad ending is depressing, but I applaud the developers and writers. Theu have a great game and I ❤️ it!

idk, my mother and i have an extremely close relationship just like amanda and dadsona. maybe even closer but i felt independent. I felt confident to be an adult. Amanda is just throwing her fears onto her dad, blaming him even though she could of did stuff differently. He is a parent, which i believe should be seen as a best friend. her behavior through out the game is uncalled for and i would of grounded her when she was an hour and a half late. Yes she is 18 but still in high school. I did not like amanda as a daughter, even in the good route. Saying she wished her childhood was different, so disrespectful. Especially because dadsona did so much for her and tried his best. It's obvious she grew up a happy child and probably spoiled.

^If I can be grounded, I'm not sure I'll still be best friends with my parents. Hierarchy and friendship never works together, the most you can do is just pretend it, and when something happend, the upper one will always "win" the arguements anyway. As your name said, I envy you for having such a balanced relationship with your parents, but I'm not sure lots of people (aka me) had that. Especially when being spoiled is not necessarily 'your choice'.(I know it sounds very rude, but bear with me for a sec.) That's exactly why it's a Bad Ending. You as the dadsona is "not" doing your best, hence why she felt she can blame that on dadsona. Good ending on the other hand, is very difficult in real life, since you can't save/load your answers, and sometimes the relationship can start to corrupt by some minor details that you don't even notice. If you can't play a game perfectly w/o save/load, let alone doing that on real life, where choices are made constantly, because there's no 'pausing' either.
