Wow just found your re-found channel. Yet to build my dream garage and was thinking about a ramp like Delboy garage but you lift the whole bike then you have to lift it again off the table to take off wheels etc. Plus the ramp is always taking up valuable floor space. I got a Abba stand with a tie down ring in the floor and a small jack to lift the front up for a front wheel, a big blue that will put my Stratloiner in the air. sorry to waffle. Interesting you don't have one ( a ramp bike lift), nice to see you pair plan things. Nice garage.

Hi Vanessa, I've watched this video several times to get inspiration for my own garage workshop (which will be constructed this summer). Yours seems just so perfect :). One question I have: is your garage insulated and/or heated? If not, are you having any problems with moisture/rust?
@TheGirlOnABike3 жыл бұрын
oh cool! That's exciting. So we're building a new dream garage soon as we're moving house and a big learning is the rubber matting. Don't do it 'IF' you can afford to go two part resin. They worked yes but the moisture under the mats when we lifted them to move out was MENTAL!! New garage will have a resin floor using these guys www.concreteflooringsolutions.co.uk Not cheap but it's our forever home so we see it as an investment. We didn't have any insulation or heating either but with a good tiled roof we didn't have any moisture issues thankfully [other than washing the floor and that going under the mats and us not realising...doh]. We thought about getting a big gas heater but the problem is burning gas gives of water which has to land somewhere...so I just got a heated jacket and lots of layers lol. The dream would be heated and insulate but our budget limits us.
@stefangr13 жыл бұрын
@@TheGirlOnABike I'm looking forward to your videos about the new garage :). Thanks for your tip about the flooring; I was actually thinking about just keeping the bare concrete for now, but maybe its better to have an epoxy floor installed right away as it will be a lot of work to have it done afterwards.

That's a really nice Garage.. You have a lot of Tools. You need to put Labels on all the Drawers and Cabinets telling what tools are in each compartment. You might forget where things are when you get older. My Sockets and Wrenches go up to 3 inches because I work on large Construction equipment and Loaders. The Plastic Tool Box would be nice if you need to take some tools some place to fix something remotely. I never even heard of Tang Tools before. I did a search and see they are sold in the USA also .. Designed in Sweden and made in Tiawan. Tiawan tools can be much better quality than Chinese are. Though they are expensive in the USA they are about 1/3 the cost of Snap On or Mac on a Tool Truck. I have bought Industrial Tools like Armstong and Proto for 1/3 the Price of Tool Truck Tools. There is a yoootooob car channel Sponsored by Sonic. As near as I can Tell Sonic is Europe's answer to Snap on .. I just found yet another Brand of Tools endorsed by Ricky Carmichael. They sell kits specific to Metric Bikes , Harley Davidsons, or Side by sides ect. They also sell a very nice Tool Roll to carry on your Adventure bike. I did not see a wheel balancing and Spoke trueing stand.
@TheGirlOnABike Жыл бұрын
Thanks Mike. I actually amazingly know where the tools are from memory 80% of the time hehe I like the challenge learning and remembering
@mikeskidmore6754 Жыл бұрын
@@TheGirlOnABike Yes I thought about that. My Problem is when I am laying under a Truck or car and a friend is standing around watching and I need a Tool. I can tell them what drawer it is in because the Drawers have labels. When you are working on a Motorcycle you don't have to Crawl out from under it every time get up and walk to the Tool Box. I am working on my Yamaha and Buell at the same time. Thus I had to drag out all of my SAE tools. Buell has a fair amount of Metrics on it such as the Showa forks and shock. I spent 2 hours the other day looking for a Cable cutter that I had put back in the totally wrong drawer. I used to be able to remember where I last used a tool and where I laid it down last. Now that I am 62 years old memory is not as good. My First Craftsman Master Mechanics Tool set was $2,400.00 with the Tool chest.. that's about what a bit nicer Snap Tool Box cost empty back then. I have a set of Chinese tools .. to loan to people. It looks like tools made in Tiawan are pretty good now days. I looked back at your video list. Wow you have been busy making videos.
