Not every brilliant piece of online guitar playing belongs to Tommy E. This is wonderful and i love the expressions on his face, so pleased and happy and mellow. I bought the tabs a few years back but put them down for other things more in my reach. Time to try this again.

I happen to be friends with the maker of Franklin guitars. I’m not at Clive’s level but I have been playing a long time and people don’t ask me to stop when I play nowadays. So I spent several Christmas parties in the shop with the builder playing his guitars. They are mellow sounding acoustics that are impeccably made. Most of them have a more Martin style tone and design but to my ear quite a bit warmer than most martins I have played. For context I currently play a Lowden 0-22 and Yairi dy-45

I think that this guitar most likely sounds so mellow because of Clive's jazzy touch on the strings. Another style played by another fabulous player would bring out other tones. It sounded somewhat different when Al played it. At least I think it was Al, if my memory serves me correctly. I think that it is a fabulous sounding OM! I'd surely love to play it. Oh, and thank you very much for that notation and tab!!

Nick had a massive stock of Engelmann spruse that came from Idaho, I think. He told me but I could be off a little on geography, but that spruce is the softest. Not that its bad, but mellow is a common observation. I think that’s why he used rosewood bridge plates to get snappy trebles.

THE TABS is not ACCURATE!!!! it sounds completely different :(

just saw this.... Hi.... Just wanted you to know that it's Clive here, and that the TAB is very accurate. All the very best, C.

Damn straight the tab is accurate! That's what makes it so difficult yet brilliant to play. I've been slugging away at it for ages. Once you can get down the chops then you can make it musical. Incidentally, the tabbed version in 'Acoustic' guitar magazine has the low E tuned a whole step down to D 😅
