Dang Holly's voice is still exactly the same!! She carried that group, didn't she sing lead on damn near everything. They do sound great together though
@PrettyLittleSickDancerGirl4 жыл бұрын
Holly is an amazing singer, with an incredible voice both back when she was just a young teen in the beginning of Dream and now - no question about that!!! ✨💖✨ But ALL of these girls had the talent and ability to sing the lead on other songs too - and it would’ve been nice if the higher ups had let them do that so each girl had more of a chance to shine - and also so that we as their fans, supporters, and audience (and the ones purchasing Dream CDs, streaming and downloading Dream music, going to Dream concerts, buying Dream merch, etc. - aka the ones giving the higher ups all the money that they made off of this extremely talented group), had more of a chance to hear the full vocal talents of everyone in the group. But the girls have said that it was just always set up from the beginning that Holly was going to be the lead singer of the group. And also, with Holly always signing lead, in their music video for this song, and in many live performances too - it makes it seem as though Holly cannot dance as well as the other girls. But that is not the case at all!! And in some live performances for this song, Holly is actually dancing full out and doing all the same moves just like all the other girls!! And it seems like they’re all actually singing live in these performances too, because their vocals are amazing - but they also clearly sound very different - and even better maybe! - than they do on the pre-recorded track for this song. So it’s a bit unfair, in my opinion, that they didn’t have Holly show off her dancing skills in the music video for this song too - especially since they obviously didn’t have to sing live in the video, and they can also do as many takes as needed to get things right. Unlike in a live performance where there’s just that one chance to make it as good as possible - and Dream totally delivered and gave amazing performances in every live show and concert they did, from when they were young teens in the beginning, to their reunion a few years ago!!! ✨💖✨

@Andrew_Warden Жыл бұрын
They actually did become pretty big for this song. Even though I preferred their song "This Is Me" (and it's Bad Boy Remix), this song should've been a launching pad for a bigger moment than they had, especially with the lead singer's amazing distinctive voice.
Listen to this on 0.75 speed and it's so dope. It kinda highlights how the low harmony is pretty flat, though. The main vocalist sounds amazing.

wolvesfan1973 To my knowledge Holly never did any drugs, just had kid(s). She is Ashkenazi Jewish and people in that ethnic group tend not to age very well. She is only two months younger than me. We’re both 32. She was 31 at the time of this video. Chris Mac She was the lead singer of the group and sang lead on all of their songs. I agree, she could have gone solo. Melissa has solo music: “Always” from “Love Don’t Cost A Thing” movie soundtrack and an album named “Stereotyped”. Also Ashley has some solo stuff too, check out “If It Feels Right”. All of the stuff I mentioned is on KZbin.
@echostorm19966 жыл бұрын
I'm an Ashkenazi Jew and even though I'm almost 23, people usually mistake me for being 15 years old. And most other Ashkenazi Jews I've known look their age or younger as well, so I'm not sure where this idea that we age badly came from. Haven't heard of it before. Holly also really doesn't look all that much older than her real age to me.

This cover is definitely effective. I've heard a lot of "worst songs of 2001" countdowns talk about this song and how overproduced it was, so stripping it down is a sensible decision. Plus the deliberately unusual "major keys" structure works a lot better in acoustic form...

Dream, I remember being obsessed with them when I was younger. I enjoyed the whole group but Diana was the one I had a crush on (she is the Burnett of the group). I was supposed to go to the Macy's passport fashion show in San Francisco, Dream was going to be performing so I was super excited to see them but then 9/11 happened so it got cancelled. Then Melissa left the group to pursue an acting career so they replaced her. Then they went on tour in the UK as soon as they got back to the U.S. P Diddy disbanded them. Also Holly (Red Head) wanted out of the group.So Holly ended up going to college in San Francisco and creating a band that played in San Jose a lot. Melissa Diana and Ashley created a group called Lady Phoenix which I was hoping would come out because they had a TV pilot about how they were trying to get back into the music industry (You Can Find Lady Phoenix online just Google it) and then Melissa got pregnant and decided that she wanted to step away from the music industry once again. And now it's great to see all four original ladies Back Together full circle doing music. I hope to see more of them in the future
