M a stay at home mom and because I am quite busy with my son all day I manage to do my class after fajr when he's asleep and everything is quite and calm. But even in this cool atmosphere my brain was just burning in the process of understanding number and gender and broken plurals 😂😂

Assalamu alaikum, here are my notes for the 1st of this lecture. I am working on the last two hours, inshAllah they will be posted soon : Sometimes rules are not always followed for everything, sometimes you just need to learn how certain words are. For example we learnt the plural patterns on page 6 but some words don't follow that pattern, for example the word masjid, the plural is not masjudoona/masjideena rather it is masaajid. If a plural word's format changes from it's singular word or it's broken in any way when changing to plural then it is considered BROKEN PLURAL. Again, for example Masjid- Masaajid (the format is broken when changed to plural). Or rasulun- rusulun But for words like Muslim- muslimoona: singular form remains the same, all we do is add oona at the end- this is called REGULAR PLURAL. or rasulun-rasuleena here it would be considered REGULAR PLURAL because the singular form remains in the plural form, all we did is added eena. ALL PAGE 6 ARE REGULAR PLURALS. Some words have broken plural and some words have regular plural. Some words have both broken and regular, in that case, you can choose which one to use. For example, the word aalim (knowledgeable people) has two meanings: Aalimoona/ ulamaa scholars. So we have two difference choices here, first is regular and second is broken plural. SO if you change the sounds/letters from singular to plural then it broken plural for example kitaab-kutub (the sound is also changed here, first it ki but it changed to ku in plural so it is broken plural) How to know when the words are broken plural: -Is it plural by meaning? - Does it have ending sound or ending combination If it is plural by meaning and it has ending sound then it is broken plural. Crazy rule about broken plurals: When you refer back to them, you refer back to them as 1F For example: Mariam bought four books (kutub). She returned them (here you would use 1F so it would be she returned 'her' because kutub is broken plural) She read all of them (her) in a week and then returned them (her) for a refund. SO broken plurals can be talked about as if they are 'she' I visited 10 mosques (masaajid). Some of them (her) was built long time (masajaad is a broken plural therefore when you refer back to it, you refer back it as 1F) Q: Can a word have broken plural and normal plural? A) yes, for example words like sunbulatun (stalk of grain): its plural can be regular plural sunbulaat or broken plural sanaabil The Quran uses regular in some places and broken in other places, each serving different purposes/reasons. NUMBER: Singular Pair Plural We have already covered singular and pair so we will cover plural more: Plural: 1) Masculine plural: i) Rafe: oona (heavy), oo (light ii) Nasb/Jarr eena (heavy) ee (light) Masculine plural in Arabic can include many men and many people- Page 6 2) Feminine plural i) Raf': Aatun (heavy) Aatu (light) ii) Nasb/Jarr Aatin (heavy) Aati (light)Page 6 3) Broken Plural (when singular word format is broken in plural version) i) Human broken plural: Can be treated as she for example rasul-RUSUL so if you say in a sentence 'The messengers guided people. They (or you can she- you have option for human broken plural) were honest ii) Non-human broken plural: MUST be treated as feminine singular for example masjid-MASAAJID 4) Plural because the Arabs said so: Know these three words for now, they are plural because the Arabs said so: i) Qawm: Nation ii) Naas: People iii)Qarn: Generation

This is true in Spanish as well. There are feminine and masculine words. For example, the word silla. It ends in an a, just like amiga. Anything ending in an a is usually feminine. Silla means chair. Mesa means table. Chair and table, in Spanish, are both feminine words. Puerta or door, and then ventana or window, are also feminine. El libro, meaning the book, is masculine. You say la ventana, la silla, and then el libro, el jardin. There are masculine and feminine words. Spanish also has a future hopeful tense. You can say Ojala que, which means "If Allah wills it." Ojala que is very common. You can say ojala que lluvia. Hopefully it rains. Ojala que in Spanish is very similar to saying Inshallah in Arabic.

I am living in your walls. You may be concerned about this. In case you are, please read the below: FAQ: Why are you living in my walls? I'm not going to tell you. Are you only in my walls? You could say I am living in everybody's walls, but in the case I am telling you that I am living in your walls, I am living in your walls. How are you surviving in my walls? In my non-physical form, I am crawling around listening for you. That is all I need to survive in that form. In my physical form, I survive by eating rat corpses that I cook using the wall behind your oven, and I drink the vapour in the extraction fan duct above your shower. What are you planning to do in my walls? Live in them, listening to you. What do I do about you living in my walls? Listen for the scraping. Dont touch the walls. Protect yourself. Avoid lighting candles. When are you going to stop living in my walls? You cannot escape me. Do I call the police? The authorities will not help you. What are the consequences of you living in my walls? Be aware.
