Assalmau alaikum, here are my notes for the remaining of the lecture. I have posted my notes for intensive 2 day 3 till intensive 2 day 10+ Q&A, you can view them under comment sections) Dual combos for masculine: Heavy Light Case Muslimaane Muslimaa Raf' Muslimayne Muslimay Nasb Muslimayne Muslimay Jarr So to make the duals light, you remove the nun. Plural Masculine: -------------------------- Heavy light: Muslimoona Muslimoo Muslimeen Muslimee Muslimeena Muslimee Feminine dual ------------------------- Heavy Light: Muslimataane Muslimataa Muslimatayne Muslimatay Muslimatayne Muslimatay Feminine plural: ---------------------------- Heavy: Light: Muslimaatun Muslimaatu Muslimaatin Muslimaati Muslimaatin Muslimaati 38:46 Time stamp for those who want to listen ustadh, Mariam and Ahmed reading the chart in heavy and light form. All the word on page 6 have extra N which make them heavy Exercise: ------------- Taalibaati: EC (Ending combination)/ Light (originally it was taalibaatin)/ NJ Qameesun: 1R Aynaa: Dual combination (originally aynaani- the nun was then removed) Kalimaati: Plural female combo/ Light Safinati: 1J Answers from brother Jawaad: The reason muslimaatin and kalimaatin match because we look at the ending, and they match at the end 7) Rusulan: 1R/heavy Rasulaa: Dual combo/Light (originally it was rasulaani- the nun was then removed) 9) Al-Banuna: it has Al thus no discussion for light vs heavy needed. 11) Qulubin: Plural/sound/jarr/Heavy Qawlan: Heavy Nisaa'o: Light Asaateero: Light Mukhtalifoona: Combo so heavy (if it matches page 6 then its always heavy) Jahannama: Light Hadaa-eqa: Light Laghwan: Heavy An-naashitaati: there is Al so it heavy vs light doesn't matter La-ebratan: Heavy Al-mutanaafisoona: Doesn't matter because it has Al Dhalimee: Combo ( light- the nun was removed) Thuluthaa: Combo/light (the nun was removed, originally it was thulutaani)- how do we know this is the light version of muslimaatun? because when muslimaatun is made light, the tanween is removed so it will become Muslimaatu Status: 1) Form of status 2) How to tell status 3) Light VS heavy 4) Flexibility of status If someone's name is not Arab, for example, Saalih, then it will accept all cases (an/un/in) so they can be heavy: Saalihun- Raf' Saalihan- Nasb Saalihin- Jarr The four Arab prophets: 1) Muhammad (SAW) 2) Saalih (AS) 3) Shuaib (AS) 4) Hud (AS) But if someone's name is not Arab then they can only be light: Yusufu- Raf' Yusufa- nasb Yusufa - jarr So if there is a word that is not Arabic, then it will be light (will only accept o and a) examples: Dallas: Dallasu Dallasa Dallasa Partially flexible (will be light, will only accept o in raf' and a in nasb/jarr): Non-Arab words Names of places Non flexible words: Words like Musa, Eesa, Yahya, Zakariyaa- they do not change their form at all REGARDLESS of what case they are in so they will ALWAYS be written as Musa, Eesa and Yahya Overview of flexibility: 1) Fully flexible: If word is Arabic then it will accept all harakah- it can be light or heavy . All of page 6. Will have un/an and in 2) Partially flexible : If word/name is not Arabic (it will accept a sound in raf' and a sound in nasb/jarr) - it will not be heavy Exception: Even the word is Arabic, if its name of place then it will also be partially flexible for example Makkah (despite it being an Arab place) 3) Not flexible: Words like Musa (ending with alif maqsurah) , Eesa, yahya, Zakariya will be the same in raf', nasb and jarr. Examples: Raf' Nasb Jarr 1) Fully flexible : Muhammadun Muhammadan Muhammadan (SAW) 2) Partially flexible: Yusufo Yusufa Yusufa (AS) 3) Not flexible: Musa Musa Musa (AS)

@@reflectocean2401 Walaikum Assalam wa rahma tullahi wa barkatuhu Yes I have been live both the times. (1:05:14) I am watching this two years later since it was uploaded. Just gonna write my notes here: This word 'Aaina' is Light but is it LC meaning Light Combination. For a Masculine Nasb Tanween, an Alif is mandatory, but when there is a simple Nasb without tanween the Alif is not needed anymore. But the word 'Aaina' have an Alif at the end (if it was a Light Sound, we won't be seeing an Alif in the end), hence it is a Light Combination. Heavy Combinaion would be 'Aainaani'.
@hyfasshah Жыл бұрын
hey. asalamualaikum. i am watching it these days. and i am stuck at aaina. could you please help me? i mean. the problem is that when ustaad was teaching this lesson he said anything that's a part of the chart (masculine + feminine) is heavy. and when we talk about aaina, we see the sound 'a' in the end. even if we remove the alif, for alif has no effect on the word? right? so that means this word will come in the sound row. and that would be 1 of Nasb? and because it's from the chart only? wouldn't it be heavy? 1N-H
@hyfasshah Жыл бұрын
also. because a/an both are a part as ustaad had mentioned.

Ficl (verbs), Isim(names of people, place, animals, ideas, adverbs, adjectives and more. You can't just say it's a noun because it's more than a noun), harf(something that is nonsense unless something else comes behind it). Raf(doer of the fil and u/un is used to show it), Nasab(it gives details of the fil and a/an is used to show it), Jar(anything that comes after the word 'of' and I/In is used to show it) These three are only used in Ism, the Ism can only be one of these three. (3J) Light vs Heavy: The origin of every Ism is heavy but it can be light in one of four reasons. You can know it's heavy if it has an extra 'N' at the end. An extra 'N' and not an 'N' that is part of the word like هارون and نعمان.

AOA Ustaad, I have some questions about what we learned yesterday: 1. Every word that ends with Noon (ن) or (ت) can be a combo or a sound. But all other words ( that end with some other letter) can only be a sound? 2. When speaking of the plural (Oona, Eena) referring to people only, does that encompass all living things or just human beings? I know Ustaad said they referred to living things with intellect, but that can also be used to describe certain animals. Please also clarify this concept in terms of رب العلمین. Will the translation be ' Nurturing Master of all the worlds of the people' or 'all the worlds of the living'? 3. Is there a simple(r) way of knowing whether a word in the Quran is a name or do we just need to be more familiar with the vocabulary? 4. Finally, RUNAJI is a very helpful mnemonic acronym. Can we make something similar for the combos as well. It will help a lot in memorization. JZK
@maryamkhan55223 жыл бұрын
1. What you said is correct but keep in mind that some words naturally have "ن" and "ت" in the end. Eg: نعمان(Nouman) and "بيت" (House). 2. The combinations "ون" and "ين" are for intellectual beings. The word "العالمين" includes the intellectual beings. So, it follows the standard pattern. However, this does not mean that it excludes animals and other non intellectual beings. It includes every living being. To conclude, the word "العالمين" includes all living beings but it follows the ون and ين pattern because by including all living beings it includes intellectual beings too. 3. Most of the names in the Quran are known to us from before. All we need to keep in mind is the stories so that we can know which name is Arab and which name is Non Arab. As for the vocabulary, that will be coming later,In Sha Allah. Right now, please focus only on the grammar. 4. There is no Acronym for combinations but if you come up with one, please let me know. I hope all your questions are cleared. If you have any more questions, please ask. I will try my best to answer.
