Prospectors Dream mat can be hard to understand and set up with limited if any info available on line.
Here i attempt to help solve some of the questions and show you how i run my 3 different size dream mat sluice.
Any questions please comment and ill try to help with them. I’ve been running dream mat in my sluices for a year now and love them to the point i wont go back to any other.
I’m no way working with or for prospectors dream mat i just enjoy using it but feel the lack of set up and running info puts a lot of people off of using it....

Great video - straight talking, friendly, generous with his knowledge and experience- and a bit of philosophical wisdom thrown in at the end.

If it passes more than a couple of centimeters of water thickness and with an incline greater than 8 degrees, you will begin to lose gold. In the mini-dream mat the pieces must be sieved to less than 10 millimeters thick to obtain positive results. In the micro-dream mat it has to be sieved to 5 millimeters and in the dream mat you can pass it with a maximum of 25 millimeters thick. Now and knowing this, I hope you increase the amount of gold collected with the dream mats. Greetings from Girona, Catalonia.

the hardest thing i find with Adding the Dream Mat to a sluice like the Keene A52, is setting up the header box to flow over the mat. i know people make the metal clips to allow the water to flow over the top edge but i find the heavies just pool at the top of the mat and don't clear onto the pockets

I thoroughly enjoyed your video. I'd love to have just a fraction of your beautiful water. We're in the desert with no surface water, just dry river beds but we do have some nice alluvial gold. I extract the gold using a Cat 928F loader and a 20 tonns p/hr dryblower and get a half a bucket of concentrates. My suice is fed by a 17,000 LPM pump over a 10"x36" Dream Mat. Our precious water is recycled so there's no chance of seeing the stones moving about but I trust they do because the gold is only ever found in the top few cells. I'd love to have that nice clear water to pan in as well 😀. Thanks for the great video, I look forward to more.

@atadventures2336
@atadventures2336 Жыл бұрын
The Cal is a good sluice and so is the dream mat. We love the dream mate and would be our go to however the big daddy is a monster on both size & extra weight. If your planning on taking it long distance it’s going to hurt carrying it all the way. The up side is that it’s a big sluice you can move far more material through it even with two shovelling it would still keep up and the joy of the dredge Mat you don’t have to classify. If you need the mobility maybe look at smaller option. I love the minimoi but always wished it was longer so maybe look at a longer version. Most of all at the end of the day Get out, Explore & Enjoy

Don't know what the rules are in Scotland for equipment that can used in the streams there but, if magnets can be used to remove the Magnetite here's something to look into. The idea is to 'not capture' any magnetite, but only to position a magnet 'Above' the Magnetite low enough for the magnet to affect the weight of it, by lowering it's weight (as it does) long before it captures it. There is a zone of influence involved that the magnet will never touch the sands, but you 'never' have to clean the magnet because no sand ever touches it. The water washes away the sand down the box because magnetic sands cease to have 90% of their weight because of the magnets zone of influence. The Hematite, in an agitated state, is washed away by the water and the moving Magnetite that all remain in close contact with the riffles. Nothing is EVER captured by the magnet...ever! Magnets alone will not move any of the Hematite. That was my worry when I considered using only magnets and water hoping they'd be enough to push the Hematite by themselves, but they will do so effectively when both the Magnetite and Hematite is agitated. A simple easy to build vibrator attached (12 volt) to the sluice will allow you to decrease the grade of the box, and decrease the flow of water. Gold being three times the specific gravity of the black sands should stay put while Black sands migrate to bottom of box. (This will take some experimenting to get the right balance on the vobrator and magnets)

What was your heavies looking like is my first question .? If the cells are clogging up and not exchanging due to being filled with black sands / heavies etc the gold will skip over.. Second you say not much angle sometimes more is better with vortex because the agitation is increased. 3rd of all I ask how fast was you feeding the sluice to fast and it pushes material over the cells rather than letting the vortex work I watch the top the rows of cells a feed according to them cells clearing......

@atadventures2336
@atadventures2336 4 жыл бұрын
Beefy Prepper the gold digger ok dude watched both your videos and here goes lol.... Cell clogging up with back sand.! Dump clean ya sluice more often may be 2-3 bucks just dump into a cons bucket, don’t strip down the sluice save that for end of day just dump splash reset.! Blond sands and build up at the top.... More water flow and maybe increase angle to allow for better vortex exchange, I suggest damming the creek a little to increase pressure and build water level to allow for a steeper drop on the sluice... you key thing is keep playing and adjusting the above till the material in the cells is dancing. Seeing gold that low down in the box tells me it’s skipping over the top cells due to lack of flow and the vortex is not being created.... At any point if the cells stop dancing and sit static the dump in bucket and reset..!!

I'm after some more advice I saw you mention your using the dt sluice. Was that the Active cell before dream mat? If so how did you get on with it? I'm off to snowdonia next month for a mates birthday and I'd like to know if it works with fine gold my mates bought the same and i dont want to let him down we live so far from a gold prospecting river I've tried it with small fishing bb and it catches it but i was wondering about the fine stuff i know that the gold is hard to come by so would really appreciate the advice thanks

Aaron Ruff hello buddy, not sure if kooky is good or bad but we will take it lol... no the DT sluice was not the active it was the expanded metal and v.mat with riffles. Iv not tried his active yet but have heard very good things about them.! If in doubt with finer gold just run a little slower or check your tailings regularly. But then also don’t get over worried chasing fly poo you can expect some losses on any and all mats. Biggest thing is have fun and explore
