I had 6 wild caught Altums (about 7 inches top to bottom) for just over a year until my mate made me an offer for them all that I couldn't refuse. They were as hardy as any tank bred Scalare and never had any trouble, they were kept in normal dechlorinated water (my natural ph is 7.0) and they ate every type of fish food that was thrown in!

Beautiful fish. Had a pair many years ago from WoW in Timperley although I didn't know what they were other than them being wild at the time. I think I paid £25 for them then let them go for free when I had to move 😮 would love to have them again one day

@marcflynn254 Yes that's the beauty of the hobby isn't it each to their own, suppose it's what works best at the time, may go back to adding wood and plants again at some point, got a shit load of wood out back as well

The large Oscar you saw at the fish store was called a bumblebee Oscar. They look almost identical to the tiger Oscars but they are totally different. The bumblebee Oscar is an extremely rare Oscar. A lot of people either don’t know about them or never heard of them.
@bigfishlad48473 күн бұрын
I have kept Bumblebee Oscars a few times my favourite Oscars I found them more aggressive than the normal Oscars but yes beautiful Oscars I have vids on my channel about them, cheers mate

As if I didn’t know that you were getting Altum Angels😅. And yes that True Parrot was magnificent 💐. Great pickup Paul. The Altums I have are f1, f1s are easy bruh. You will do fine I’m sure. Do contact Sheller Aquatics and order some food. His food is phenomenal. Let him know that you are a KZbinr and a friend of mine and I promise that he will show you big love.

If they are F1 don’t worry to much very hardy don’t worry to much about PH just keep them in the 30c ….. feed heavy and keep water charging to grow them out
