The New Website! - Mint52.com
I've been slowly getting back into the rhythm of creating content, and I'm excited to share a new video with you! Since this is the first video I've released in a while, I wanted to teach an extra special card effect... The Dream of Aces card trick (also known as Mcdonalds Aces).
The aces magically vanish one at a time, and then reappear moments later next to the leader ace (the ace of spades). This is a classic plot in magic and so many different magicians have worked on it throughout the years. Even David Copperfield performed a version of this on national television; and for a very good reason.

Oh no! You’re showing the best trick with the four Aces ever. It’s really an old trick and for the past 50 years it has been rarely seen. It has been my signature ending trick for 60 years. It always gets great reactions. This trick really deserves a renaissance and I’m glad you’re featuring it here. I rarely preform anymore so getting this trick out to more popular is exciting for me. This routine that you teach here is wonderful. I usually do it where the magic happens in four spectator’s hands. BTW you’ve done an excellent job of teaching in this video (as you have done in your many 52Kardd videos). You are a great resource for the magic community. Thank you.

So the spectators would be holding the double facers as well as the three other cards? That sounds even better man. But unfortunately i can not trust my friends to hold them.
@davidniederauer1278
@davidniederauer1278 5 жыл бұрын
Ezra Tsegaye I hear you. But I make the spectators do things so that they cannot flash. I have each spectators hold the cards differently. One is to hold the cards together tightly between two fingers behind their back. Another is to insert the four cards inside a book with the cards sticking halfway out the top of the book. Sometimes I have someone sit on them. You can tell them to grasp the cards tightly on both ends of the cards using two fingers of each hand and hold them arms stretched out in front of them or over their head or even bending over between their legs. It becomes quite comedic getting each spectator to hold the cards all in a different “unusual” way while at the same time insuring they won’t flash the cards.

This is pretty much mc donalds aces but people calling it new i guess with naming it different pretty much the same mechanics etc.......Magic should be more creative i feel we not running out of ideas im sure

I really like the thought of involving the spectators. However, I was thinking about when someone does the magic. Do you put the aces (doublefacers) in the 3-pack and give them to the spectators to later take the card back to do the elmsy count or? Also, after having watched this trick several times now, I still think it is really fun and strong because there are many convincers as well as small moves making it difficult to follow. Which in the end really gives that feeling of; wow, magic :p

Maybe a stupid question but which way do you get the double faces seperated from the rest if you want to go on with the same deck but a different trick s If you so not use this trick as the ending trick of a routine? Put em to the bottom During squaring up the other cards and palm them off when reaching for the nix with the remaining cards?

Tip for those who may struggle with the Elmsley count, if you count in your head "1, and, 2, and, 3, and 4" it will help give a nice flowing rhythm and give you a timer when to 'push' the double packet over. By this I mean on 1 you slide the first card off into your left hand, on the first "and" you do the pull with your thumb and push with your fingers and at the same time start moving the single card back into the pack. 2 is when you take the double packet and ditch the single, and then 3 and 4 for completion.

11:07 DO NOT do this «normal/imitating» COUNT!!!! If you want your spectator to think you did nothing then use the Elmsley count twice in this 2nd ace because if you do the exact same count and a second after the card disappear it's like you did nothing different from before and this is what makes this magic. 13:42 about gripping the double face down like that, you can be more casual. Instead use the thumb on top index on the upper edge and the middle finger on the bottom of the double. It makes it natural and still help to square. 14:46 if you want something a little better turn your left hand first showing the back (squaring up the double facer with the card below it) Then turn your right hand to show the back and at the same time turn your left hand and drop the double face (the 3 of ♠), then turn your right hand and drop the card (5 of ♣) then drop the last card in your left hand showing also the back. These are tips to make the trick more natural it takes more practice but i'm not saying that what Asad teach is «bad»/«horrible» i'm just trying to help some magician who want to be as natural as possible.😅
