Well with parallel existence, each copy or rather each original can be aware of each other's thoughts and senses unless somehow isolated as Valgrynd was when one version was in Rimunu's stomach space, so he gets to live both lives though he may have to visit the various dimensions periodically to sync up with his various other selves. It should be interesting as the light novel does not seem to be taking the same final plot line so will the light novel, manga and anime also close the loops to allow an existence in our world and really, would you rather have Rimuru's life or that of an average Japanese salary man who doesn't even have a girlfriend. Don't give me the Rimuru doesn't have a gender, Rimuru can change his shape so he can have whatever sex he wants when he wants it and anything is possible with magic. Had I been him, I would've just let myself die as had originally occurred, Besides just going back to patch everything up is not just dimensional travel but time travel so it could be patched up whenever you want it to be so I would wait till the eternal life as Rimunu becomes boring. Note, as it seems that Rimuru's magic and skills worked in this world, will his new revived original self be able to use his skills and magic? Will he also have a Ciel as should be the case with other parallel existence selves...

@@jaylordpascion1049 Maybe he does just act as an observer, as time travel should make you just anachronistic without a beginning if you removed how you were created which is what Rimuru does in the web novel, but then again, a lot of writers like to have the individual and the entire prior timeline just fade away and be replaced by the new timeline once the time traveller creates the grandfather paradox such as in the Back to the Future movies (though there is no basis for this in our current theories of time and space). If our current multiple worlds interpretation holds correct, there would simply be an anachronistic Rimuru from one timeline existing in a timeline where he prevented the other him from dying and reincarnating as a slime in the first place, or at least not dying at such an early age. However, I would suspect that if you're willing to time travel to prevent your own death, you would probably not be satisfied to be just an observer but would rather work from the shadows in order to ensure the other you has a happy life with a loving companion. As Rimuru can shape shift, he/she could even become that loving mate and there are time travel stories where that happens.
