I recorded this over two years ago and just never got around to publishing it, but I guess better late than never. Dream Soccer '94 is one of a slew of football coin-op games to be released during the early 90s, and this particular title is the handywork of R-Type creator, Irem.
If I'm honest, this feels somewhat redundant in the wake of FIFA International Soccer. The graphics are reasonable enough, but I don't really see the appeal of this when compared to Electronic Arts' all-conquering footie game. In fact, the general presentation, ability to choose formations and player strategies certainly feel as though they were inspired by FIFA.
Does Dream Soccer have any original features? There's a special move system that allows strikers to "power up", enabling power strikes, and it's possible to channel your inner Cantona by fouling the heck out opposition players, booting the them in the chest or head!
Really, I've never been the target audience for football and sports games in general. Dream Soccer gets the basics right, but it's not really the game for me.

I didn't know that Super Saiyajin played for the teams in 1994. Always loved playing the different Football games with my younger brother at the Arcades. It had a different feeling than playing at home on a console.

It game very a like on Konami “International Superstar Soccer”, which appeared later on different platforms (SNES, PlayStation1, N64). 🙂 And funny moment, the sound when players kick the ball more like on kick from fighting game. 😉

This could be called: Mortal Soccer... Kicks, slaps, punches, twirls... And that energy/power Up that can see on one carácter at time, seems to be like Goku's Ki energy... It could be called even "Dragón Soccer" 😂😂😂😂😂.
