2:00 the eye isn't translucent for light piping, there's an LED in there and you need to open the back of the head to add a cell battery. The tip of the gun has a magnet that turns on the LED. So no painted eyes on these for a reason.

awesome review as always!! pretty damn cool figure. If you compare the alt mode to 980 or 990 series Caterpillar loader it's actually pretty damn accurate while also maintaining a stylized impressive bot mode. Not sure it's for me as I just picked up one of the "300" toyworld Devastator x sets lol! BUT your review is tempting me haha!

Very glad to see this is looking better QC-wise, I was in the market for something that'd scale and match with the Cang Toys combiners (the only other combiners I have) and this was the only Devastator that seemed to fit the bill. I have this one ordered and am really hoping the rest are able to keep up (or improve upon) the quality.

Love the looks of this in both modes. I would personally keep it in alt mode. It actually looks like a realistic modern loader. I think this set would look great in an IDW collection. Thanks for reviewing this.

This is a really good bot. A far step above their Superion, and those were pretty good overall. Definitely feels good in hand. Very interested to see Hook as the next offering since he'll be a quadruplechanger. I'm probably all-in on this set, though dont think I'll go with combined mode for these.

Their Superion was lifeless in term of colours- its hardly looks like superion so I have passed it. Ordered this one because its colours are Gorgeous and its the best looking scrapper I have ever seen! I have almost all the Devastator out there and this one is the coolest looking. Pre ordered also the second one.

If you remove the cover on the back of the head you can install a battery and use the gun to turn the eyes on and off.

I got warrior last month. Soon as got him into leg mode I knew right away the qc for the combine mode is gonna be solid. Definitely this is not the work of the previous engineer that did the lack luster plane bots. Like I said this devastator is gonna big, heavy and QC will be solid

Why can't these 3 p companies do a box set a bit after every comes out they fulfilled all the pre orders . And then whack em all together and sell them ? I know some occasionally do that but it's a rarity. But I must say I'm loving the paint job on this guy

Absolutely gorgeous and I love the colors. However, it's a pass for me as I'm already in on XTB's toy deco and FT. I've also got the first 2 Hasbro Constructicons on preorder but, I'm not sure if I'll stick with them. Might just get them and give it out as a Christmas present for next year.

I agree. Their individual bots were great but Silverbolt had massive problems. Even after the spare parts when combined superion just fell apart breaking at multiple points.

It looks interesting but not for me personally i don’t like the vehicle design the black parts that constantly un do themselves it would piss me off although the foot mode looks great I am hopefully going in on the 01 studio versions they look amazing in my opinion

DreamStar has the worse track record when it comes to QC. They were literally shipping broken bots during the Superion waves. Buy at your own risk.

Definitely a step up from their awful Superion. But it's only one bot, I'm very cautious and worried about how the rest of the set will turn out
