Probably a reference to New Born from Origin of Symmetry. MP was really into Muse at this point.

I’m not hating the new stuff of DT because it’s still very good but I really like the feel they used to have in playing their music.

When you se these videos you find Dream Theater was Mike Portnoy's Band...

I know. He is the founder and the heart of the band.

Exactly, MP was the heart and soul of this band, which is also why DT never sounded the same after he left.
@147pablox3 жыл бұрын
He edited them, is logical you feel that way, but as much as he wanted to be his band, it never was. 11 years after he left, the band is stronger than ever. Do the maths ;)

Could argue that it was Sherinian or Moore actually, considering he was huge in writing most of Awake
@Carbaveg2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, after the wizard Jordan Rudess and the man Petrucci himself. Mike is creative in his own ways, only not quite on that level, but he sure can set the tone and direction of an album once he sets his mind to it.

Well, he can't, he is a drummer for a reason, and he was the perfect one for DT, but I know I am not alone in feeling relieved not to have to listen to his choruses and attempts at singing all over the place on the newer albums.
