I thought that I was the only one that put musicians on tiers. 😂 I HATE all of those “Best Of All Time” lists for guitarists, bands, singers, etc. There are SO many great musicians out there and they all have their own unique qualities, etc. I put them talent wise on tiers or levels also. There is just NO ONE that is better than all the rest (Dream Theater is about as close as it gets though 😉). Images and Words is my favorite DT album. I got it when it first came out and it spent pretty much an entire year in my cars cassette deck before being ejected. 😂

Oh Yeah! "Metropolis Pt. 2" is one of my favorite Dream Theatre albums and this a really great song on this album. Love this.

The did do a 20th anniversary tour in 2019 where they played the entire album through in their second set - It was fantastic

I definitely recommend watching the live dvd performance of this album. The dvd was released after 9/11 2001. The dvd cover was pulled because they created a logo of the big apple with NY skyline on fire. It was of course coincidental but they re issued it without that logo. It was beautifully captured live. I was privileged to see this show on the round stage at Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix! Unforgettable performance for sure!!!

Reminds me of being 16 again in high school learning to play this one. That instrumental section is so fun to play on bass! Just the changes, the adding and taking away bars, the energy, etc. I mean the entire song is fun to play but that’s one of their best instrumental sections of any of their songs

14:25 They did that on their 2019/2020 tour, Distance Over Time. Scenes From a Memory, part 2 was celebrating its 20th anniversary. They played the WHOLE album, begining to end ❤ It was my first time seeing them live and it was an incredible experience.

As far as Rudess, its a MUST that you checkout Jordan hear for the 1st time "Empire State of Mind (Part II) Broken Down" by Alicia Keys, and what HE comes up with is ASTOUNDING. Glad Lexi is loving this! I especially like when Petrucci "triple harmonizes" his guitar to get that "Brian May/Queen" effect. And Jordan has all that _History_ of music styles up his sleeve to reflect the time Nicholas is under hypnosis, living another life in 1928. #nicknlexrequest I hope you guys go back to the Whole (Awake) track of *A Mind Beside Itself* where "Erotomania" comes from: "Erotomania" (instrumental) 6:44 "Voices" 9:53 "The Silent Man" 3:47 . . . hopefully Lexi can sit through that, and maybe later, the Live "Score" version of "Octavarium" at some point. It's a FEAST for the eyes and ears to see each member at the top of their game in virtuosity and moods 🙂. Also hope you guys consider the 2 *Fates Warning* tracks I mentioned in the last Dream Theater reaction. - Very happy you enjoyed this Lexi! Nicholas, you did good (now count to 10, and you will feel more relaxed 1, 2, 3 . . . . .).

Dream Theater does Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon from start to finish, note for note, LIVE! These guys are phenomenal. It’s great that the original drummer and founding member, Mike Portnoy, is finally back, though if you haven’t heard any of him with Winery Dogs, they are a must hear! They are a Supergroup comprised of Richie Kotzen (Guitar, Lead Vocals), Billy Sheehan (Bass Guitar), and Michael Portnoy (Drums)! Formed in 2012 and released 3 albums. Fatal Tragedy is a phenomenal track in the rock opera -- overlooked even ... But please don't skip over the heart/soul/glue that pulls together the entire album -- the ballads Through Her Eyes and The Spirit Carries On. Especially the former, as I think TSCO gets more spotlight while THE deserves to be recognized as more impactful. ..... And if you haven't already, you should watch the movie Dead Again, the inspiration behind this album. Adds great depth to understanding the album.
