For a while I thought I fell asleep Lying motionless inside a dream Then rising suddenly I felt a chilling breath upon me She softly whispered in my ear Forsaken I have come for you tonight Awaken Look in my eyes And take my hand Give yourself up to me I waited painfully for night to fall again Trying to silence the fear within me Out of an ivory mist I felt a stinging kiss And saw a crimson stain on her lips I have to know your name Where have I seen your face before? My dear one don't you be afraid Forsaken I have come for you tonight Awaken Look in my eyes And take my hand Give yourself up to me Take me far away Close your eyes And hold your breath Till the end of the earth Forsaken I have come for you tonight Awaken Look in my eyes and take my hand Forsaken Fly away with me tonight Awaken Renew my life Now you are mine Give yourself up to me

When I was younger I used to think how cool it would be to be transformed into a vampire. Until I met them and lived with them in real life. Though we call them a different name: Narcissists. The lines ,,Renew my life”, ,,Give yourself up to me” and especially ,,Now you are mine” of this song made me realise how narcissists are vampires. They indeed suck your life, and depend on others’ blood (joy for life) to survive. They are seductive, they are deceiving, and once they are done with you, they will find someone else to suck on. They are vulnerable to sunlight or the truth: it exposes who they are. They can’t see themselves in a mirror, because they lack empathy, hence they can’t see themselves reflected on others. Anyways, a cool song 😎🔥👌🏻

I never said they were boring, I have massive respect for the skill that Portnoy and Petrucci have. Recognised the name from somewhere and listened to it for the first time in like six and a half years, do you not enjoy the nostalgia you get from listening to music again for the first time in an age?

This story is about a man who is visited by a vampiress. He believes that he's seeing beautiful things, where his blood is actually being sucked by vampiress. The "crimson stain on her lips" alludes to the blood that she has taken from him.

I like to believe that the video tells somewhat of a different story than one of deception. When the vampire refused to take his blood near the end (which I believe would have saved her from the strange contraption), it could be looked at in a tragically romantic light, but that is just one way of thinking about it.

Here's my review of Dream Theater's entire discography (excluding live albums): *When Dream and Day Unite* (1989) Rating: 72/100 Best Song(s): The Killing Hand Worst Song(s): Status Seeker Biggest Strength(s): Tight musical performance, Dominici's vocals actually fit pretty well with the music Biggest Weakness(es): I'm not a fan of Charlie Dominici's singing style, it feels more like a demo to me than a full album, and it doesn't have any 10 minute songs! *Images and Words* (1992) Rating: 83/100 Best Song(s): Metropolis Pt 1: The Miracle and the Sleeper Worst Song(s): Another Day Biggest Strength(s): Extremely well written and well performed Biggest Weakness(es): While this album is amazing, its very overrated, and a incredibly overplayed. Because of this, the album has been kind of spoiled for me *Awake* (1994) Rating: 91/100 Best Song(s): Scarred Worst Song(s): Caught In A Web Biggest Strength(s): Heavier and I think even more well written than Images and Words Biggest Weakness(es): The chorus in Caught In A Web annoys the hell out of me *A Change of Seasons (EP)* (1995) Rating: 83/100 Best Song(s): A Change of Seasons Worst Song(s): Perfect Strangers Biggest Strength(s): A Change of Seasons: An EPIC 23 minute track that when its all done is one of the best songs in the entire Dream Theater discography Biggest Weakness(es): They just filled the rest of the EP with cover songs. Well done cover songs, but still wish they'd have done at least one other song they wrote. *Falling Into Infinity* (1997) Rating: 74/100 Best Song(s): Trial of Tears Worst Song(s): Hell's Kitchen Biggest Strength(s): This album has a couple strong songs on it Biggest Weakness(es): The interference from the label is obvious in the finished product. Just not a very good album, especially by DT standards *Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory* (1999) Rating: 100/100 Best Song(s): If I had to choose a favorite I'd say Home or Dance of Eternity or Fatal Tragedy Worst Song(s): If I had to choose a least favorite, I'd say Regression Biggest Strength(s): An incredible concept, an incredibly well written album, and an incredibly performed album. Biggest Weakness(es): The concept isn't always easy to follow *Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence* (2002) Rating: 100/100 Best Song(s): The Glass Prison and Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence Worst Song(s): No song on this album deserves to be called the "worst" Biggest Strength(s): Starts off with an EPIC 14 minute masterpiece, and ends with an INCREDIBLE 42 minute masterpiece, with nothing but great songs in between. This is my favorite Dream Theater album easily Biggest Weakness(es): This album doesn't have any weaknesses in my eyes. *Train of Thought* (2003) Rating: 93/100 Best Song(s): Honor Thy Father and Endless Sacrifice Worst Song(s): Vacant Biggest Strength(s): DT's heaviest album. I LOVE the anger in songs like As I Am and Honor Thy Father, well written, and excellently performed Biggest Weakness(es): Sometimes sounds a bit repetitive *Octavarium* (2005) Rating: 88/100 Best Song(s): Sacrificed Sons and Octavarium Worst Song(s): I Walk Beside You Biggest Strength(s): There are some seriously epic tracks on this album, and its incredibly well written on most songs Biggest Weakness(es): I Walk Beside You sounds like a flipping U2 song. And that's not a good thing to me. *Systematic Chaos* (2007) Rating: 90/100 Best Song(s): Forsaken and The Dark Eternal Night Worst Song(s): In the Presence of Enemies Pt 1 Biggest Strength(s): This album is very well written, and does well at showcasing the heavy side of DT (The Dark Eternal Night, Prophets of War, etc) and the softer, more melodic side (Repentance) Biggest Weakness(es): They should have just kept In the Presence of Enemies as the full 25 minute song and put it at the end of the album (Apparently the reason they split it was because they didn't want to end consecutive albums with really long songs...I guess they forgot that Train of Thought ended with a 14 minute song, and Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence ended with a 42 minute song) because In the Presence of Enemies Part 1 is not as good when its a stand-alone song. *Black Cloud and Silver Linings* (2009) Rating: 98/100 Best Song(s): A Nightmare to Remember, The Shattered Fortress and The Count of Tuscany Worst Song(s): Wither Biggest Strength(s): I love that all of the songs, save for 2, on this album are long epic tracks. In my opinion, the opening and closing tracks on this album are the 2nd best opening and closing tracks to Dream Theater albums. 2nd only to the opener and close of Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence. Biggest Weakness(es): Wither stands out as kind of a boring song compared to the rest of the album *A Dramatic Turn of Events* (2011) Rating: 88/100 Best Song(s): Lost Not Forgotten, Bridges In the Sky, Outcry and Breaking All Illusions Worst Song(s): This is the Life Biggest Strength(s): Being the first album without longtime drummer and one of the founding members, Mike Portnoy, this album is still solidly written, and shows that one member does not make an entire band Biggest Weakness(es): Except for Build Me Up, Break Me Down and On the Backs of Angels, the songs below 10 minutes in length kind of suffer. They lack the progressive style that DT is known for. *Dream Theater* (2013) Rating: 90/100 Best Song(s): Illumination Theory and The Enemy Inside Worst Song: The Looking Glass Biggest Strength(s): Starts with an epic intro track, followed by an awesome follow-up track, has a bunch of solid songs in a row and then ends with a 22 and a half minute track of pure awesome. This album is underrated a lot. People just mad that Portnoy isn't in the band anymore. Biggest Weakness(es): A couple of the songs are inconsistent (The Looking Glass and The Bigger Picture) *The Astonishing* (2016) Rating: 80/100 Best Song(s): A Better Life, A Savior In the Square, Three Days, Ravenskill, A Tempting Offer, A New Beginning, Moment of Betrayal, Heaven's Cove, The Path That Divides, The Walking Shadow, My Last Farewell, Our New World Worst Song(s): The Answer, When Your Time Has Come, Brother, Can You Hear Me?, A Life Left Behind, Chosen, The X Aspect, Begin Again, Losing Faythe, Whispers on the Wind Hymn of A Thousand Voices, Astonishing Note: There are so many in the Best and Worst Song(s) lists because they're is 34 songs on the flipping album. Biggest Strength(s): An interesting concept (despite the fact that it feels like a copy of Rush's 2112 concept, just with a few differences) and some really good songs Biggest Weakness(es): Almost all of the soft/slow songs on this album are just, well, boring. Remember that this is MY opinion. You're free to disagree with it, but please be respectful about it.

Absolutely, Dream Theater wouldn't be Dream Theater without James Labrie.

This really is similar to Evanescence in some way. When I stumbled upon this, I could get a grip on Petrucci's mind of this title track being a homage to Evanescence's album Fallen. I must say, they (each member of the band) are true geniuses! Bravo.

Another freemasonic concept song from "Dream Theater". Even the name speaks for itself. Aliens, Isis, Babylon,Jesus, transhumanism, as above so below; symbolism is everywhere in video clip and lyrics in my IMHO.
