James really needs to fully accept that he is no longer the lyric tenor he once was. When the music sits in his voice in the upper baritone range, he sounds very good.
@EvilSkeltos20 күн бұрын
I agree... I'd rather hear him sounding comfortable... but there's a lot of demanding passages... I would guess he only has so much room before it wouldn't sound correct unless the instruments changed tuning.

Did you hate Mangini that much ?
@chrisingles10215 күн бұрын
@DanielHoerle-ww9so Not at all. He is absolutely outrageously talented. It's like if Rush replaced Neil Peart who ironically is a drummer who wrote most of Rush's bibliography and then Mike's DT lyrics. The heartbeat of a band is/was gone. Since then my heart has been restored! ❤️

DT fans should stop complaining about JLB! To sing these songs in such high register through this extensive tour while in your 60's is not an easy task in any way. Look at what happened to Steven Tyler from Aerosmith few months ago. They will never replace a member like Labrie. Just enjoy the show while it lasts.

I feel as though people are confused on James’ singing. He might have improved a little overall from the first show I’ve heard people say but you can’t go by this song as it written for his current range. So of course he’s gonna sound better for the new DT stuff. The old stuff is what he’s lacking on. They didn’t lower the keys for the first show and I haven’t checked on later shows but he went flat before and couldn’t hit those high notes either at all or real well before. So I wouldn’t say he has “gotten better” or that “he’s back”.

All these people saying "Labrie sounds great" and "Labrie is back etc". Do you seriously not hear that 80% of the notes he sings are out of tune? Imagine if Petrucci was out of tune the whole time....

Agreed! And thus is their last song! If he can’t even sing the most recent stuff correctly without sounding like a suffering cat, why should he continue with this?
@serfalinskyi647426 күн бұрын
He is not 80% out of tune, just some notes in chorus, he is 99% in tune in this song and this is live performance , there is no singer on earth who can sing live all notes,and you need to check your ears, you are deaf
@hichaelhyers26 күн бұрын
He's still flat a lot of times, but there has been a very strange happening since Köln where now it suddenly sounds passable. Mind you, they still took money for hundreds of shows which were completely out of tune, and that will never be okay, but something definitely changed now.
