Petrucci looks good with short hair. Rudess looks like Dave Grohl. This is probably the best full-on metal song DT have ever done. It's by far the best track on 6 Degrees and has more great riffs in it than most bands - even the very good ones - manage in a whole album. A tour de force by Petrucci, but especially by Myung. He plays absolutely brilliantly on this song.

I find LaBrie as a great vocalist, he had many phases in life where he sang differently, I don't know if I am correct, but I feel it's true, rest is all good when it comes to present condition of his voice, he sounds great.
@atteleppikangas10 жыл бұрын
Yeah, he broke his vocal chords just before 1995 awake tour, and later on around 2000. After that he's been sounding really awesome. Although Chaos on motion dvd sounded terrible, don't know why.
@bunnihilator10 жыл бұрын
Atte Leppikangas for me chaos in motion was poorly produced. the idea of getting diferent video from diferent shows in diferent countries didn't quite work because these videos ended up looking (and sounding if i recall) amateurish. so the dvd for me wasn't solid and consistent like for example the score dvd (the best for me), but still it was a good watch. James has come a long way, i think he has become better along with the band. I mean listem to him in Dream Theater album, and the new DVD at Luna Park. He may had some problems in the past, but we all have problems at some point, and that's ok because we're human.
@atteleppikangas10 жыл бұрын
Score is my favourite as well, it's simply magnificent. There's some really good Labrie performances in Luna park too, although i think the overall mixing could've been done better.

I have had the pleasure of seeing DT on several occasions, and not once did I ever come away thinking LaBrie let the band down.... far from it. In fact, he sounded really good in Manchester on the recent tour. And as for Portnoy, love the guy but get over it. DT for me in the beginning was all about Petrucci, and Moore. Moore left, life went on. Mangini is here and the last two albums have sounded better for the new lease of life DT have been given. Great to see DT all looking in great shape, and having fun on stage on the last two tours.

The one thing I really like about this song is that it's one of the few songs that James can ALWAYS sing properly on. It's a very atypical DT song with no high wailing and no normal riffing. Six Degrees is a really good album.
