@@ankihansen2489 hey don't be an asshole. It's fair for someone to dislike a certain vocal style. He's not saying James is a terrible singer, he's just saying his softer vocals sound better to him. Nothing wrong with that. I personally dislike some of James's higher singing as well, because he doesn't enunciate enough and you can't understand what he's singing often.

Just watched the Live In Japan version and I actually prefer it to this. Obviously Jordan beyond question is an unbelievable pianist, an all round wizard on keys. BUT Kevin Moore's performance all those years ago had something Jordan didn't, in certain sections of Wait For Sleep he would harmonise notes within the chord sequence. Thanks for the video, it's a great performance from DT.
@prateemlahkar76224 жыл бұрын
Yes I agree.. The keys of this song doesn't suit Jordan's style. Jordan is more of a technical player shredding notes and hits the notes hard. Kevin is more of a soft melodical player. You can observe his notes arent as soft and smooth as KM's.

This is a beautiful beautiful piece of music, but I have to say, that watching this live was one of the most moving things I have ever experienced. It transported me elsewhere and there was nothing else in the world. I felt every word labrie sang and every note Jordan played like they were played just for me. I mean, brilliant!!!

I can't really have an idea of how he is perceived by the band. Hopefully, they understand his exceptional abilities as a songwriter. Unfortunately, they don’t say something like that in interviews. There might be a PR-related reason.

Why does JR do this? Just...why? This song is so wonderful and gorgeous in its simplicity and it doesn’t need this ridiculous frill. I know it’s not his song but it just lacks the passion and intensity that KM put into it.

Why does Jordan insist on turning every single fucking thing he plays from the time before he joined into a tornado of notes and showing off of his speed playing talents? We get it. You’re a virtuoso. Good for you. Now just go ahead and play the fucking thing as it is written. It was good enough to revolutionise prog rock back then so it’s clearly good enough as it is now.
@darkswan803 жыл бұрын
LaBrie gave an excellent performance here, that unfortunately was not supported by the keyboard. This song is supposed to create a dreamy atmosphere, where voice and piano become one single "cloud of sound" to carry you away. The piano sounds like it's playing its own thing. It also feels a bit rushed.

@David222322 жыл бұрын
