Spider man two has bugs, lots, and most games do, but we all see how microsoft seem to be the worst with this guy. Games like this I often replay on Easy mode after initially beating it. When a story is deep and complex, it's hard to drink it all in when you're also trying to stay alive and keep your heart from jumping out of your chest...

Heck, I switched to story mode not that far into it. Not sure why it was giving me such a hard time. I played the original game many times but for whatever reason it felt like it was taking way too many bullets to kill things and I was having a hard time which was taking some of the fun out of it. On story mode, I still get to be scared shitless from all the weird shit going on and I still get to shoot things and it feels better being able to drop things in 3-4 pistol shots. IMO. I'm enjoying the game more now

You don't need to hear a reviewer to rate this game... Just play it, and boom, first couple hours are boring and the rest just more walking simulator. The first series are better, full of action, story and horror aspect which lack in the second version.

Remedy is an awesome studio and Control was a superb game as well. Reminder: This guy gave SM2 a 10/10 a game that is buggy (it crashed 5-7 times before i finished the main story). Game that is overloaded with walkie talkies so if you're planing to replay the game for those sweet combat encounters, good luck LMAO. 5 hours in and struggling to carry on. It's gotten a little more interesting, more with visual effects than anything else. Gameplay is pretty much as basic as it gets, most of the time you're just walking around slowly and clumsily. It can feel a little clunky at times with lots of glitches and bugs. Surprised with the 10's. No denying it looks fantastic though.

I’m not in a place where I can throw $70+ on a digital copy of a game. Other priorities simply. Outside of that, I collect a lot of retro stuff that’s no longer available on digital store fronts. I could spend a small fortune on a pc and emulate I guess, but I’m in it for the nostalgia.

This game is Saga Anderson featuring Alan wake, different mechanics introduced through saga. We barely see Alan. And yeah visually its good, but the game generally in my opinion lacks the Mojo Alan wake 1 had.

Skillup said minimum requirements for this game on pc was a 3070 with DLSS turned on just to hit a 1080p resolution. I almost think that was only going to get you about 40 fps, but i could be mis-remembering that last part. So take that for what you will I guess, but it doesn't sound like it'll be the best experience unless you have really high end components. That's why I'm trying to find console reviews to figure out what the performance is like on ps5.

It wasn't bad but this one looks a whole lot better. I wasn't a huge fan of the first one so I haven't bought this one yet but these videos are making me want to get it. I'm not much into the suspenseful scares. Only RE7 got to me out of all those games. I'm a huge RE fan just because they've never freaked me completely out. There was that part in 2 with the Tyrant walking around that made me uneasy but the rest of them were like action games to me. I don't want to play a whole game that's like RE2 with the Tyrant keeping me on edge the whole time. I like to have fun, not stay nervous. 😂

I played the first Alan Wake for the first time last month and I gave it a 7/10. I thought it was a decent game but a little overrated. The story was intriguing but the combat got pretty stale fairly quickly and you pretty much had only one enemy type throughout the entire game (I guess two if you include the crows). The fact that this game adds more enemy variety makes me interested in checking out this one.

Thanks for the review. I played the first game but I gotta say I think the writers were trying to outsmart everyone, including themselves, and to me it became so muddled. The Evil Inside suffered from a similar disease. Very interesting story except they didn’t want to tell you about it in game. It’s such a shame as no doubt there are some genuinely terrifying moments , especially early on in the first Allan Wake. But there comes a point where you want some logic to the story, and I found that seriously wanting. I’ve heard so much about the sequel and will give it a try since you are impressed, Dreamcast. Hers hoping all these elements come together to form a more cohesive storyline than the first one. Cheers.

My most hyped game in a year packed with bangers. Remedy at the top of their game with their most sacred IP. You know we’re in for a trip. It is baffling that XBox refused to make this game for years and they really could have had Remedy in their pocket, still making exclusive games for them, if things had gone better. One of the largest missed opportunities on an up and coming studio at the time that I’ve seen. But, given that we’re finally in a place as far as tech advancements where this can truly open up the way it was planned, I think this is the perfect time to release this and what a capstone to one of the greatest release years on record in gaming. Also, I love both platforms, this is not meant as any shade toward XBox and not a console war post. Just glad Remedy got the rights back and this is actually seeing the light of day.

Dude I'm on the fence about it, it's on sale on ps store but I'm afraid it's just a walking simulator with minimal combat. I wasn't a fan of the first game and the flashlight mechanic. Would you say it's a proper survival horror game?

Without sugar coating the situation..I hate to be biased on anything even if it means justifying the expense to make yourself feel better. The pace is good but gets interrupted repeatedly by the case boards and other items which is called the mind place, it’s unnecessary and the core game did not need this at all, the story and narratives could’ve been done differently, the mapping system is poor at best and without fast travel to many locations except the main towns which is done by visiting your car, enemies are scarced and right so bc it’s not a horror FPS but rather survival much like the resident evil series, in fact the game takes a lot from RE, even its inventory system, the fear factor is mostly based on ambient sounds and its atmospheric music, and of course the usual jump scare cliche, there are other very annoying things I could continue picking on but no need for nit picking. I bought it on sale for $25 and that’s a fair price for it regardless of how good its attempt is. Imo could have been a 10/10 if many of things I mentioned wouldn’t have been there, whoever thought that was a great idea tanked on that department, the game is one of those I could probably replay 5 years from now if that, good but not those you replay on a consistent basis to get your fix. In conclusion I would recommend ONLY if it’s dirt cheap on sale, this one is different than the first one but keeps the same elements, the attempt is to drive it more like an interactive movie so if you didn’t like the first, quite a chance you may not like this one either.

@@camf33 appreciate the response, I went for it and bought it last night. I have to say I'm pleasently surprised. The ambiance is top tier and it feels much better than the first game. I got 4 hours in and I'm enjoying it so far. I do agree with your take on the mind place, it seems kind of unnecessary and it interrupts the flow of the game specially since the atmosphere is so immersive. Other than that I like it thus far, it kind of feels like I'm playing a thriller/ horror movie and it's a welcomed experience. This is the kind of game that I will play late at night with the lights off and headphones on.

@@City_Lights.Awesome.. it is still a solid experience and mind you I do enjoy horror games.. SH, RE, Evil within, Fear, you get the vibe and legit this one made me jump off my chair a few times Lol. Without spoiling it for you the plot board inspirations can be quite frustrating at times as you need to change scenes and the hand lamp… had to go a couple of times to YT for assistance as I kept spending a lot time with no progress bc I got stuck a couple of times, also your echoes are needed too so don’t forget them.. enjoy it brother!

You lost me when you praised the writing. The writing and characterization in this game is almost at The Room level of laughable. So Saga is investigating a murderous cult which operates out of this town. She runs into a waitress she's never met, yet his waitress calls her out by name and mentions her daughter being dead. And Saga...just seems totally unconcerned. I'm pretty sure than in the real world, or even a well-written story, Rose the waitress would quickly become suspect #1, and would likely be taken into custody for questioning immediately. But no, Saga just blows it off and pays it no attention. Then, because they seemed to feel it necessary to give us a twist, it turns out the cult are actually the good guys, protecting the town from the evil in the woods. Ok, so this cult knows the FBI is there investing them for murder, one they didn't commit, but they decide to just keep quiet and let the FBI continue thinking they're evil murderers? Yeah that makes tons of sense. This twist also means the the brilliant detective Saga Anderson was barking up the wrong tree the whole investigation. Good work there, Sherlock. The whole detective board thing is awful. It's basically the gameplay equivalent of sorting laundry. But worse than that, the very design of it demands that the player will figure things out long before the brilliant detective does. They player is figuring things out as all these clues are collected, but Saga appears to not figure anything out until after you've sorted your laundry onto the board. Hell, I had Saga questioning where old Tor could be after I'd already rescued him. I found myself thinking "come on Saga, try to keep up." Then there's those things that Saga appears to not even see until the story wants her to. You find some footprints in the woods. I'm thinking, look, there's footprints. Saga says nothing. Doesn't seem to even notice them. Then an hour later when the story sends me to those footprints, then suddenly Saga sees them. Again, I'm thinking "come on, Saga, try to keep up." I swear, so much of the game design seems to make it's protagonist look like an idiot. Wake's chapters didn't seem so fraught with problems, since it wasn't set up as a mystery in the same way as the Saga chapters. But at one point, I was in the subway and had just finished some objective, and the game said I needed to go elsewhere now, maybe the collapsed tunnel. But I wanted to thoroughly explore this area before doing so, to be sure I'd found all the hidden goodies. Well, the whole time I was doing that, I had to listen to Wake every 10 seconds or so telling me "I need to go to the collapsed tunnel. I need to go to the collapsed tunnel. I need to go..." So the game gives me an environment to explore for hidden goodies, but then nags me for exploring it. That's just flat out lame. Or how about that tape recorder. While exploring the theme park, I heard some creepy laughter, and found it coming from a tape recorder stuck on the back of some mascot. I tried to interact with it...nope. I tried to shoot it...nope. Ok, I thought, must just be part of the background. At least until the story sent me back there to retrieve the tape, at which point the tape recorder is suddenly interactive. WTF? Why couldn't I have picked up the tape when I was there the first time, and just carry it in my inventory until it was needed? I'll tell you why...sloppy, lazy game design. Don't even get me started on the laughably cringy music video that just goes on...and on...and on. Who thought that was a good idea? With all the cries of "masterpiece!" and "GOTY!" that I'm seeing, I'm left to think that either people have blinders on with this one, or people have decided to not hold video games to any standards whatsoever.

Honestly, I don't get it. At all. But I also understand (sort of) why people like it. But really, the combat isn't fun, the exploration is still semi linear, tedious to traverse with very lame puzzle solving. And if you're not into David Lynch bullshitty narratives, I don't see what's appealing about it. Overall it was about as serviceable as a wet wipe.

I have been having really bad performance issue’s on PS5 and I’m hoping if anyone knows a fix, for example whenever I’m playing the game and I’m walking through the woods textures and vegetation seem to just pop in and out which is weird, also whenever I run/walk the game stutters really bad and it looks as if it drops from 60 fps to 15. Lastly whenever I get to far away from a structure it basically just disappear and then loads back in. If anybody has any fixes please let me know because I have been trying to fix this for about 2 hours

The only charachter that Remedy has most likely planned to connect to Quantum Break is Beth Wilder and Jessie from CONTROL... I spoke to some devs a while back and they just laughed when I told them what I thought, and said nothing is a coincidence, and that stuff is laid out like that on purpose for future partnerships...

Like, I had a friend of my mine who works at Platinum games ask me about a game from Capcom, and I was like "Dude, I don't even know anyone at Capcom..."... But it is fun to occasionally get some inside info... Also, I'm playing through Alan Wake 2 tonight with my kids, and Sean Ashmore's charachter of the sheriff, has a white board with info on Jessie from CONTROL, and that he knows a different version of her in a different "dimension" under a different name, and that he himself is a completely different charachter, but with the same face... I immediately wrote my friend "You friggin turd, I KNEW IT..." He just replied back with "Nothing is a coincidence..." He's such a troll...
