Here for Dreamcatcher. I can't believe no one has explained the premise of this song yet. 'Deja Vu' was done as a collaboration with a mobile video game King's Raid and the music video is based on the story line of that game. Good vs. Evil. Protagonist vs Antagonist. This particular song is separate from Dreamcatcher's normal discography. Most of their main tracks are lore based in sets of 2 or 3. They are listed as KPop, but their main tracks are almost always rock based and so that sets them apart from the rest of the KPop industry. I hope you'll come back for more.

Girl in black dress did stab the Queen and take the throne. She and the Queen had been close friends, but her heart became possessed by darkness and her desire for power started a civil war. The Queen forgave her because of their past friendship, but was betrayed and murdered. The other members of the group played the roles of ladies of the court. They were either exiled, imprisoned, or executed. At the end the usurper is alone on the throne trying to justify what she did by creating false memories of the Queen persecuting her. The song is called Deja Vu because what causes a feeling of deja vu is the mind creating a memory of something that never happened. The MV was made to promote a video game called King's Raid. Dreamcatcher are noted for their story songs and all their album title tracks tell stories, usually of a cautionary nature about the destructive effects of greed and selfishness. Dreamcatcher are unique among Kpop groups because of this, and because of the way they incorporate rock music into their songs. Rock music is not popular in Korea and you generally will not find it in Kpop groups.

First, love the shirt! I got a good chuckle when I realized what it said. Thanks for checking out Dreamcatcher's Deja Vu. Dreamcatcher always incorporates rock & metal instrumentals in their title tracks which makes them very unique in K-Pop. If you want to check out some more check out these songs. Vision - This is the second part of their Apocalypse trilogy and is an anti war message and about standing up for what's right even if it's hard. Scream - This is the first part of their Dystopia trilogy and is about online bullying and hate speech and draws parallels between medieval witch hunts and the witch hunts that happen online Justice - This is their most recent release and is the second part of their Versus Duology. In this song Dreamcatcher are portraying normal people who choose to be warriors for others. Enjoy!

Thank you for the reaction! Thank you for the story about miracles. I agree with all of it. Also, I noticed that you will be listening to Falling in reverse in a couple of days. It seems like one of their hardest songs were added, but I also hope that some other songs have been added, because this group is truly versatile. I know you don’t take requests in the comments, so I won’t add any:) but, this is a really talented group..

Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 Deja Vu is nothing short of a masterpiece. It is a beautiful, fragile ballad that kicks your teeth down your throat in the chorus. It is extra difficult to sort out, because it tells the story from two perspectives. You know how even evil people think they are the good guys? This is reflected here. One perspective is Yoohyeon's, who gets corrupted right in the beginning. She thinks JiU is bad (does not want to share power) and backstabs her and kills, imprisons or banishes the other members so that she can rule alone. The other perspective is reality, where we can see JiU be kind to Yoohyeon, but she gets killed for it. I believe this is a commentary on the different perspectives people can have about the same event. The lyrics seem to hint at an abusive relationship, where there are usually two perspectives as well, and the abuser finds excuses to justify their actions, while the abused find themselves in an endless Deja Vu.
