@@jamescurfman3284 Just to note, unless they've said otherwise and I missed it, Breaking Out isn't _officially_ part of the Nightmare canon, bearing in mind that's a Japanese release at the end of all the Korean ones. Personally, I don't think it is, but there's definitely a case to be made that it's possibly an alternate ending or some such.

Yep the whole MV was shot in France in two different places. The scenes with JiU and butterflies with the sea and mountain behind is Étrétat (in Normandy). And the rest (the school/mansion and the forest) were all shot in the "Château de Janvry" (not too far from Paris by car).

For the info, they filmed the MV in two different locations France yeaaaaaaaah!!!! 🥳 And one place (the castle/school and the forest) not far from my home! They also said that "Fly High" MV was the most exhausting one to film because of the jet lag and because the gravel kept sunking when they were dancing in the alley. And yeaaaaaaah "Actress JiU"! Even though fly high came after chase me and goodnight it’s actually meaning like they’re living there and JiU found a spider and it was cursed and yoohyeon killed it then it cursed the girls and the mansion so JiU and the girls sacrificed themselves and locked the curse in and themselves with it too.(closing the gate) So then in chase me and goodnight it shows an investigator looking into their lives and trying to find out what happened to them but maybe they turned bad and they’re witches and curse the man and go off on their own when he finds out about them

The story so far... Okay, this is going to get kind of long. You might want to get comfortable and maybe get a beverage before you start reading. (WARNING; LOTS OF SPOILERS INCOMING! If you haven't watched these videos yet or if you want to try to figure the story out for yourself you might want to skip this entire comment.) Note: The details of the story has been intentionally left vague by Happyface and Dreamcatcher (henceforth collectively referred to as Dreamcatcher). Outside of some comments in various interviews and some other sources there is very little 'official' information regarding the story. Dreamcatcher purposefully left the story vague because they want the fans to discuss and figure out the story for themselves. They thought it would be more fun and engaging for the fans that way. There's also a ton of symbolism, some very quick "if you blinked you misses it" details and even some "It's just there but not related" bits and pieces strewn throughout the videos. For example, the black paper airplane really doesn't mean anything, but the creepy figure in the lower window might be relevant. This synopsis contains MY personal take on the story. I intentionally left out a lot of details because, like I said, it's more fun for you to fill in the blanks yourself. This is all based on repeated viewings of the videos and information gleaned from various sources, such as interviews with Dreamcatcher. There's also a lot of "That makes a lot of sense" bits and pieces I've picked up from other peoples' theories and comments. Okay, here we go. The story so far. *Fly High* (time references in this section refer to time stamps in the Fly High MV) In Fly High we see a group of boarding school girls living the happy life of, well, happy school girls. One day JiU catches the spider and, for some reason, decides to keep it as a pet. And that's when things started going horribly wrong... Catching and caging the spider ticks of the enigmatic "The Lady", the creepy web shrouded woman who sits in the attic (ref: 2:19 in the MV) and wanders the halls late at night (ref: 1:27). Who, exactly is "The Lady", though? Is she a ghost, a witch, a demon? Nobody knows, but she does carry much bad joojoo and ticking her off was not a good thing. Note: There's no official name for The Lady. That's just what I call her. Anyway, JiU catches the spider and things started getting pretty dark, pretty quickly. Over the course of the video we see all the girls fall to the Lady's curse and become Nightmares (not ghosts). Key point: Yoohyeon finds a mirrored vanity in the woods. She touches it and a black substances covers her fingers. Shortly after we see her trying to flee the school (ref: 2:14 to 2:18) but she is stopped by something and when she turns to go back she has a very serious, almost evil look on her face. Later we see Yoohyeon burn JiU's spider with a magnifying glass (more on this below). Note: A lot of people think that the curse was triggered when Yoohyeon killed the spider. However, if you watch the video again you'll see that things start going bad before she kills the spider. The Lady takes Gahyeon (ref: 1:19 to 1:26). Also, JiU sees herself playing the piano (ref: 2:05), which is something she would only see in a dream or nightmare. This tells us that the nightmare has already begun. There are other indications that the girls have already started to fall under the spell as well. Both of these scenes occur before Yoohyeon kills the spider. IMO, Yoohyeon killing the spider didn't trigger the curse, JiU trapping the spider did. Burning the spider did make Yoohyeon a special target for The Lady, though (more on this in later videos). And why did she kill the spider? During an interview, when asked that very same question, Yoohyeon responded "For fun". Story wise, I think it goes just a little deeper than that. At the point where Yoohyoen kills the spider she has already started to fall under the curse's control, enough to make her slightly evil, but not enough for her to know that the spider is significant to The Lady. Over the course of the video we see each member become effected by the curse, all except JiU who, at the end of the MV, runs out of the building and close the gate, effectively locking the curse, and the girls, within the confines of the boarding school and it's grounds. As you watch the video you'll notice how the song starts out light and fun in the beginning (as Ozlem and Esosa pointed out, almost Minx-like), but gets a little darker and heavier as the MV progresses. This is to show the progression from happy go lucky school girl to cursed nightmare. There's also a bit of symbolism that represents the loss of innocence, such as the burning butterflies at 3:01 in the original MV. The video ends with JiU standing in front of the closed gates and the lyrics "I'm trapped in the nightmare". *Chase Me* In Chase Me we see a paranormal investigator (aka; a ghost hunter) enter the boarding school, which is now a hotel. There he encounters everyone's favorite kpop group, but this is not your typical fan meet. Over the course of the video the members taunt him (per the paraphrased lyrics; Chase Me, you won't catch me, I'll just hide in another dream) give him nightmares and, in general, just royally mess with his head. At this point the girls are similar to ghosts in that they have no corporeal form (he can see them visually but cameras don't pick them up) and limited physical capabilities much like a poltergeist (knock books off a shelf, throw papers around, etc). At the end of the video we see him take an ax to the perpetually locked Room 808, the girl's inner sanctum. Cue creepy music box music. *Good Night* In Good Night , after breaking his way into Room 808, the ghost hunter finds 2 books chained together. One is what I call "The Book of Nightmares". This is the book we see the investigator leaf through in this video. If you pay close attention, you'll see that as he flips through the pages of the book, we see the girls' nightmares. He looks at the picture of a girl being held by long arms and in the next scene we see SuA being held immobile by wooden, root-like arms. He turns the page and sees another picture, this time of a girl falling. In the next scene we see Gahyeon falling in the video. Fun Fact: A lot of kpop groups will have colors associated with the members of the group. Some even have representative animals. Dreamcatcher takes this one step further. Each member has their own representative nightmare (SuA = Being held immobile, Gahyeon= the sensation of falling, etc. Any decent kpop profile site will have these listed.). There's also a reference to Handong's Scopophobia (fear of being stared at) in the scene when the walls are covered with eyes. The other book, I assume, is the book Dami found and was seen reading in the Fly High video. I believe it to be a book of spells, of some sort. Dami reaches through the mirror and takes The Book of Nightmares. By burning the pages from this book, they free SuA and Gahyeon from their nightmares. They use the book of spells to perform a ritual (the stick figures on the trees) that somehow allows them to switch places with the ghost hunter (poor guy) trapping him in the mirror and allowing them to leave the confines of the boarding school / hotel. As I said, I've left out a lot of details because, well, spoilers. There's also the fact that if I put down all my theories, this comment would probably end up being about 83 pages long. Anyway, I hope this helped to give you some information that you can use to build your own theories. And again, as I said, most of this is just my personal theory of how the story goes. Fell free to add, subtract, change or completely ignore any or all of this while you're coming up with your own theories for the story.
