Come join me for another emotional rollercoaster with Dreamcatcher 😂 As always, this is just my interpretation of the MV, and while it may not be the most organized reaction as far as my thoughts go, I feel like a non-chaotic DC reaction is not really a DC reaction, eh? :) PS - Due to some personal stuff and the current state of KPOP, new releases/comebacks happening so often, I will NOT be taking any requests/suggestions, I appreciate them and I will keep an eye on them on occasion, but it's just too much to handle at the moment.

Ah yes, PIRI's choreography, especially the intro part, got quite famous (as Dreamcatcher's intros are always creative XD) back then for the beautiful imagery shown. Not to mention that the song goes hard af! They're really on their own league slaying all the time with the "Pioneers of Rock in Kpop" title on their shoulders. We stan our 7 pretty all-rounders 🤟🏻

If you Google Piri the majority of the responses will tell you that it's a traditional double reeded Korean flute. However, it goes a little deeper than that. "Piri" literally translates to "pipe" and is used in Korea to generally refer to any pipe-like wind instrument such as a flute, recorder or even a hollowed out animal horn (see where this is going?). The piri in this case, according a statement SuA during an interview, is the animal horn Yoohyeon picked up from the chair at the beginning of the MV. In the days of yore, before the invention of radio, Korean soldiers used to carry a piri. They would use this to call for help or sound an alarm. Hence the lyrics "Blow the piri" and "Emergency emergency". In the MV we see Yoohyeon still trapped alone in the Nightmare realm. She picks up the piri which triggers it and we hear a blaring horn sound. This, in turn, calls all the other members to where Yoohyeon is. And that's how Yoohyeon got the band back together. 🙂 The items in the MV, the dolls, clocks, telephones, all represent possible causes of depression in their own way. The dolls turning on SuA represent the loss of her childhood / innocence. The clocks and telephones represent responsibilities. Clocks can literally control your life. They tell us when to get up, when to go to work, when it's time for a meal, when to pick up the kids from soccer practice and when it's time to sleep. A lot of people, if not most, spend a lot of time worrying about "I have to be at a specific place at a specific time". A lot of people associate phones with work and responsibilities. Talking on the phone is a large part of the work some people do. People or family members call you to ask for a favor or tell you the need a ride or whatever. They can also be the bearer of bad news. And, as we all know, they can also be a source of frustration because of all the spam calls. There's a lot more to it but it would me an hour to type out how all this links to the other MV's and how each member is effected in different ways and so on but and I really don't have the time for all that right now.

Remember Dongie in Good Night? "I don't wanna tik tok" - IT'S ALL CONNECTED! 😉 But seriously, your theory makes a lot of sense. I also think that Yoohyeon is the one "abducting" the members, but in the end they are all still stuck in the white dimension, but at least they are together. I personally think this is a continuous story from Fly High, and after Piri we would actually go back to Chase me, because being in the white dimension means they are nightmares. But there are many theories. The whole Nightmare arc can also be seen as a criticism of the Kpop industry, especially with the Minx experience in their books. So yeah, not easy to figure out. 😉

PART 2 Good Night Here we get introduced to the “nightmare book”, the book where the timeline and evidence is held for how the girls were cursed. The nightmare hunter finds it, and with a lot of other evidence, he begins to trap the girls in the nightmare together, so that he can finish what he came there to do- stop the girls from invading people’s dreams. The first that he is seen to trap is Gahyeon, as soon as he opens the book she is seen falling. Later we see him rapping Sua in the vines, and Yoohyeon and Siyeon in the forest. Jiu however sees that he has trapped Gahyeon and is a powerful force to be reckoned with, so she prepares with Handong and Dami to not be trapped themselves and to free the others who he has trapped. Dami is seen with Handong in a library, collecting perhaps knowledge on how to do this. With this knowledge that the three of them have then, they begin once again to torment and mock the hunter, perhaps implyling messages like “ha! You think you’ve won” and “we’re still out here- you’re not done yet!”. And so the three of them take the book, through the mirror (which is now becoming a strong symbol for the communication between nightmares and real life). They burn the pages of the book, starting at Sua’s entrapment, setting fire to the vines that have entrapped her and setting her free that way. The wallpaper of room 808 is seen to burn, showing that the Nightmare hunter’s work is being reversed, the room he’s in has papers flying around him, and so, finally, he is seen, trapped in the mirror. Trapped where he aimed to trap all the 7 girls. But through teamwork in the nightmare, they saved each other. The final scene shows the girls leaving the nightmare hotel, leaving the nightmare hunter trapped with no hope of escaping, every time he falls asleep he will be tormented by nightmares, whatever he does. This is the last we’ll hear of him. The girls move through the forest that they were chased through, looking for the next place for them to stay and torment people, which will be at the You and I mansion, and on the way they drop the book. This book has in it perhaps more than was shown in Goodnight, and by dropping this book, the girls lose part of what they can use to combat their own nightmare world, and they lose perhaps the missing link to what is needed to save Yoohyeon in You and I. You and I The girls themselves mentioned that You and I is a sequel to Chase me and Goodnight, so the story continues that they go to this mansion and they trap and lure people to play with their dreams and nightmares, using the flash of a camera and the photos that they take. It is first important to note that Siyeon repeatedly appears standing in a Dark Room, where the development of photographic film used to take place. Siyeon is Sua’s minion, and she acts accordingly with the imagery of fire to carry out Sua’s “manual” work in working with the photographs. Sua is seen in the actual photography suite, and she is the only member to be seen in the photographic suite where Yoohyeon is seen to get cursed, once again backing the motif that the storyline is facilitated and woven together by her. In the dark room, we also see the first to be captured by the curse, Handong and Gahyeon, who now work together with Siyeon to cause nightmares in people, through photographs. While this MV primarily describes the girls in their devilish nightmare selves, who plague others’ dreams, scenes like when Handong is trapped among the webs and Jiu’s constant running of fear through the mansion show that the real version of these girls is still tormented by a curse of nightmares. In this MV we distinctly see two versions of Jiu, one being Jiu with short hair, and one being Jiu with long hair. It is safe to assume that when we see Jiu with long hair, it is her nightmare self, that aims to take hold of yoohyeon and put her in the nightmare that she can’t escape, as this is what we see at the end of the choreography, with Jiu holding her hands around yoohyeon’s neck. However short haired Jiu is the real life jiu, who is still running away from the truth and the curse, and who wants to figure it all out. Perhaps the spirit of the curse disguised itself as Jiu’s real life form, with short hair, to capture the spirit of Yoohyeon in the important scene where Jiu is being cursed, in the room that Sua set up for Yoohyeon’s curse of the spider, that comes through Jiu. Jiu, when running around the mansion in fear and in trying to figure out what has happened, is confronted by the shadow of one form that the curse takes- that being a ghostly blue smoke, and after that realised what has happened. So she gathers up the girls in real life, as we see Yoohyeon being overcome by the curse in the dream world. The girls perform a certain ritual that releases the blue smoke for a moment, but weakly, and it is not enough for Yoohyeon to escape. Dami’s scene may also be relevant as Dami, as seen in Fly High has somehow protected herself from fully succumbing to the nightmares, but in taking part in the ritual breaks out of the protective bubble she has created around herself in order to help Yoohyeon. At the end of the MV, Yoohyeon wakes up, but in the nightmare world. Alone. And the MV immediately cuts to the reason for it- the curse has come upon her through Jiu, just like in Fly High. What This entire MV in my opinion, as well as the MV for Piri, are calls to “save me”. All of the girls are trapped within nightmares from Fly High, and none of them know a way out, and they have no idea how to get out. Remember the book of nightmares from Goodnight? And how it is perhaps part of the missing link to saving the girls from the nightmare? Just before the bridge we see the book of nightmares, now preserved in a glass case with a blue flower. This same flower becomes hugely important in the MV Deja Vu, wielded by Sua, symbolising Sua’s involvement and actions. The curse from Sua has successfully trapped them in a lucid dream. The whole song, speaks about the “Two of Us” waking up from this nightmare. I think this points to yoohyeon and jiu. In the bridge, Jiu is questioning the nature of the nightmare, and what happened to Yoohyeon. “this could not be a nightmare, even if the black clouds (yoohyeon’s curse smoke) covers me up, you’re the one I keep seeing”. Sua seems to have underestimated the power of Jiu’s care and love for Yoohyeon. “Why can’t I catch you” however, shows clearly that Jiu has no idea how to save Yoohyeon, therefore how to save them all. This scene shows also yoohyeon, standing on a roof with a huge moon behind her, which is perhaps a link that is developed too in the MV Deja vu, a glimpse into the Kingdom Yoohyeon has built up. However Jiu looks up, wishing, hoping she could do something to save her but doesn’t know, at least for now. Piri Piri is the beginning of the end of the nightmare. It introduces and explains the characters from a new viewpoint. There are real life characters cursed with nightmares, trying to save each other, as seen What. And here I think we see the subdued nightmare selves, the consciences of the members who are waiting, longing to be saved from the nightmare. They are dressed in white, in white rooms. Their conscience is innocent, but their torment is black and cruel as night. Once again we have a Jiu running scene. In this scene, I think Jiu sees in the television her encounter with her nightmare self, and realises what the curse of the spider has done to her and the other members. Each of the members is cursed to their own nightmares and their own fears: Handong’s nightmares involve the clocks around her and their curse. Siyeon is lost in a never ending maze that always leads back to the beginning. Sua’s nightmare involves dolls that come to life. Gahyeon is tormented by what is being said to her over telephones. Jiu is tormented by the actions of her past. Dami is trapped in a dark passageway that leads to a cupboard that grabs her in. And yoohyeon? Yoohyeon is looking hard for herself in the mirror, waiting for someone to save her. In perhaps the most momentous scene in the MV, Yoohyeon stands in front of a mirror, like in Fly High. And now, when she reaches out to the mirror, the mirror doesn't consume her hands with black tar. It however wobbles. Yoohyeon has willpower to be saved, she has hope that she needs to be saved, she has hope that she may someday be saved. “She will wait until the day you come out” to save her as she says. Who is this “you”? It will be discussed in Breaking Out. At the end of the MV, the girls are seen as their white pure tormented nightmare selves holding hands. Their wills are aligned, but they physically are nowhere even close. The lights go out on them. Perhaps they are hiding the fact that they are holding onto hope. Perhaps this hope is so faint that it rests in darkness. However it is there.

One of my favourite DC title tracks! It is a little more rock then the title tracks following it which I like but the main thing I love is the constant change ups. Only the chorus already has 4 parts! Also Dami's single rap line to transition from one part to the other is genius! The message of this mv is indeed dark and I expect the "I've had a gun for a while" to really mean what everyone instantly thinks. I do not (at all) expect Dami (or any other DC member) to ever have these kind of thoughts but the person talked about in the song could. We also know they have had a hard time during Minx which could be metaphorically referenced with this line. Speaking of Minx, when you are prepared to see a TOTALLY DIFFERENT side of (5 of the girls of) Dreamcatcher you could check out their songs. "Why did you come to my home" is their debut and "Love shake" their only comeback. When you are not prepared I recommend their Japanese releases, starting with "Breaking out" which is according to some an alternative ending to the nightmare story. That's all off course after checking out their comeback 11 October! Thanks for the reaction as always much fun and very interesting to hear your interpretation!

Well... maybe it goes harder than the other Korean title tracks but definitely check out all the Japanese releases (found on the channel called Pony Canyon). Breaking Out is one of those and reportedly is the 'alternate ending' to the Nightmare series, coming out after Piri. Their heavier Japanese Rock/ Metal stuff is just AWESOME! :)

@@jamescurfman3284 You are definitely right, their japanese tracks some times even approach metal and are definitely worth a listen! They do however have less of a story (the meaning is always there but it can also be said that they are simpler) so I don't know if a full analysis of these songs will happend.

Yeah, a piri is a Korean wind instrument, though AFAIK it doesn't sound like the flute in the song. It is also held in front rather than to the side as the choreography would suggest. So story about how Gahyeon ended up with rap lines here. They have each of the members do the entire song, and then from there decide who would be best for the various parts. Gahyeon impressed them enough that she managed to get a rap part, despite not previously having rap parts in their songs. Yeah, blowing the piri is meant as a call for help or an alarm. Hence also the "emergency emergency". I'm curious to see what you will check out next for Dreamcatcher (besides the obvious of their upcoming release).

first post Fly High Butterflies begin the storyline, seen round Jiu, showing her life, her vitality, and most importantly the lack of a curse, the lack of evil. We begin the story at a mansion, where the girls go, perhaps on a holiday. Jiu sees a spider outside the mansion, and traps it in a Jar and brings it in, which brings the curse into the lives of the girls. Gahyeon is seen first to be taken by the curse, in a horrific event while she sleeps, surrounded by vines and foliage. We see a short clip of a version of Jiu playing the piano (this will become more important later). Then we see siyeon, in her real self (holding the teddy bear) being taken away by Sua, who can be seen as the facilitator of the curse in the storyline. When they come back out of the woods, Siyeon is still her real self holding the teddy bear, but like a “Hansel and Gretel” story, she is lovingly coaxed by Sua into something dark and mysterious that she doesn’t know yet- the curse of the spider. The shot at the dinner table is very important. It shows the Good side and the Bad side, indicated by the salt shakers and the books. Dami, Siyeon and Jiu are still not cursed or thrown into the nightmare. However, Gahyeon, Handong and Yoohyeon have been (more on how yoohyeon gets cursed later). Sua sits in the middle, as she is the one who is watching and even causing the girls to be cursed, one at a time. The curse of Handong is seen in the shot where the witch moves across the rooms in the mansion and immediately after handong throws a black paper aeroplane out of the same room where the witch was seen, perhaps a sort of last second SOS, leading to the scene she has later, lifeless in the bathtub. Dami is seen reading books, perhaps she is informing herself on the things that happen in the curse, so that she can protect herself. This can be somewhat confirmed by the fact that in Goodnight, in the nightmare, Dami is still sleeping. She has found a way to protect herself initially, however this is broken when Dami, out of her own will, breaks out of the glass box she has created around herself (in her rap in You andI) to help the other girls. Possibly the most important is the curse of yoohyeon, who burns the spider, and it is held on the account of jiu making the mistake of bringing the spider in. There is a flashback in the MV to the moment where Yoohyeon pulls Jiu away from the spider, which I think is very significant as it shows how Yoohyeon perhaps has a hint that it is dangerous but doesn’t want anything bad to happen to Jiu. Shortly afterwards, and still in a flashback, Yoohyeon herself lets her curiosity take over her, burning the spider with a lens, which starts the cascade of curses in the mansion, beginning at gahyeon. Yoohyeon is then seen in front of a mirror, a way for her to try to look for herself, which is often seen in the whole trilogy as a way for communication to happen across nightmares, but black tar consumes the mirror, which shows she has been disconnected by the curse, and also trapped in the nightmare. Remember when we mentioned that Jiu was playing the piano? I think this is the nightmare version of Jiu. As Jiu is exploring the mansion, she finds the other version of herself, and realises what she has done in bringing the curse of the spider into the mansion. So she immediately tries to shut the gate and prevent any more of the evil from coming in. But the butterflies that were flying around Jiu have died. Sua has already mislead Siyeon while Yoohyeon Gahyeon and Handong are already trapped. Yoohyeon, bearing the start of the curse of the spider, is already free and outside the gate that Jiu tried to contain her in. The final scene of Sua stabbing the iconic “nightmare photograph” of the girls further confirms to me that Sua is some sort of “storyline facilitator” or “narrator”, and that she has played the key role in causing the girls to be cursed. Chase me The next part of this storyline is when the nightmare hunter is sent to find out what happened to the girls in the mansion. This is confirmed by what yoohyeon said in a vlive. In the image where the nightmare hunter is seen circling Gahyeon on the nightmare picture, the pencil breaks. The nightmare hunter is trying to find the cause, perhaps trying to find out about Sua’s involvement, but isn’t any closer by circling Gahyeon, signified by the breaking of the pencil. In a short still, we see Sua holding Siyeon’s hand, which links back directly to their scene in Fly High. This shows that Sua has indeed captured siyeon. In an important scene, Dami is seen to be lying down in the middle of all the girls, sua notably in the middle of the ring they form around Dami. This relates to how Dami defended herself by reading about the curse in Fly High. Perhaps this scene is them (especially Sua) calling to Dami to be with them, to partake in being nightmarish with them. And it succeeds to some extent, as Dami joins the circle, and raps the lines “seven little presents every day”, however she is still further apart from this curse than the rest. Each of the girls act as their own nightmare to the Nightmare Hunter. They toy with him, and torment him. Sua is seen with a pendulum. Handong is a ghastly figure on a table underneath a moving light. Jiu is seen as a ghost thrown across a pillow in the corridor. Siyeon torments his door and locks him in. Gahyeon throws books across the floor. Yoohyeon is seen tormenting the corridor and adding to the mystery of room 808. However, the Nightmare hunter has evidence. And he analyses it, and as is his profession, he finds out the origin, that being room 808. And he knows he needs to get in to trap them, because he realises in here is how they do their work. This is the photo room of the chase me mansion. This is the room where the girls are seen in the final part of the moving having fun with “pillows”, having fun with sleep, having fun creating nightmares. And the hunter has found the source- the nightmare photograph that Sua herself left a mark on in Fly High.

PART 3 Breaking Out This is their beautiful Japanese single, a simple music video that shows similar principles to piri- the girls stuck in a white room, where they are separate from each other, but end up holding each other’s hands. The lyrics to this song are very interesting. This is the alternative ending to the Nightmare Series compared to Piri. Here is what I make of it: Yoohyeon: When I close my eyes, silent night, silent night. The dark night visits, run away, run away Jiu: It will take everything away I have… Yoohyeon: No way no way, I just wander, lost: Look, someone is coming up, Coming to me. Oh, no matter how far I go, Alone, I cannot get out- Already inside a dream. Jiu: Oh oh, the place to get awake from the darkness- I will find out. Yoohyeon: So breaking out of the dark night. Take me up from here, now. Believe this heart screaming “ I can overcome”. Then: Jiu: Baby, I throw everything away, even the past, And I’m seeking for the light. Even if someone tries to stop me, You can’t stop my heart. Breaking out of this nightmare. Bye bye to the nightmare. Those are the final lyrics, and they finish the song. Throughout this exchange we see the girls getting closer and closer together. Jiu is realising what she needs to do. Jiu, to undo the curse that she brought upon all the girls, needs to confront the fact that it was through her that Yoohyeon was cursed, both in the You and I MV and in the Fly High MV. And Jiu needs to give everything, and this is her most sincere will, as nothing can stop her heart now. The consciences of the girls get closer and closer as Jiu’s conscience figures this out, and Yoohyeon is ready and willing. Or so it seems. Deja Vu So far this is the culmination of the nightmare storyline, and it doesn’t seem finished. However, it reveals a lot of things about the characters, most notably Sua, Jiu and Yoohyeon, even Siyeon. Sua is now closely associated with the blue flowers, the flowers of the nightmare book, the flowers that symbolize the fate of the girls. Yoohyeon is immediately seen in her kingdom as the queen. And she is seen to now have come to terms with the curse, as she now in fact controls the same blue black smoke that took hold of her in You and I. We see gahyeon not trapped and tormented by the vines and foliage that trapped her in Fly High but rather at peace in a serene beautiful garden. We see handong standing on a table, lit up brightly and in pink, perhaps commanding the army under Yoohyeon’s rule. Sua is an outcast in the first part of this MV, showing perhaps Yoohyeon’s reserved feelings to what Sua has done to the girls. Remember how the curse came to Yoohyeon through Jiu? In the first sword confrontational moment, Jiu is dressed in black, with black hair (like in the final scene of You and I), and yoohyeon in white. This is a picture of how Jiu’s actions caused Yoohyeon to be cursed, in a world that was essentially perfectly fun and happy for the girls- the initial Fly High mansion. However this is not the reality. Jiu has ever since been holding the pain of the guilt in causing Yoohyeon to be cursed. “As long as she can breathe, she won’t let go of yoohyeon again, and they’ll be together for every moment again” We mentioned in breaking out that Jiu knew what she needed to do to save them all, starting from Yoohyeon. Because it was essentially Jiu’s fault that Yoohyeon got the curse of the spider in the first place, Jiu leaves the past behind her and confronts nightmare Yoohyeon. We see in many flashbacks that Jiu and Yoohyeon and indeed all the girls were once close, perhaps a flashback to real life, or the community feeling they felt in Piri and Breaking out. However we see yoohyeon’s fake smiles, and her subconscious agenda that is waiting for Jiu, just to betray her. We get flashes to Yoohyeon and Jiu’s position in real life, where Jiu is seen pointing a sword at the sleeping Yoohyeon. Yoohyeon is holding the flowers, given to her by Sua, which further shows Sua’s involvement in the facilitation of the storyline. The roles are then seen to be swapped, which indicates that Yoohyeon has more power than Jiu realises, and Jiu doesn’t know she is “walking into a trap”. Now the second sword confrontational scene is in a much more chaotic throne room, and Yoohyeon is seen in black, and Jiu is seen in white. Jiu is giving nightmare Yoohyeon the choice over her life, because Jiu knows she must do this to save the girls. But Yoohyeon does not want to be saved. Yoohyeon has changed since being trapped in the nightmare since being left alone by all the other girls for so long, so in an emotional act of betrayal, stabs Jiu in the back. This changes everything. Whether or not Jiu actually dies, this act completely upsets even Sua’s grip on the storyline, as Sua throws away the flowers she is holding, which burn, and if we remember that Siyeon acts as Sua’s helper, minion, apprentice, the blue velvet that Siyeon is encased in also begins to burn. The fate that they had designed was separate from Yoohyeon’s will, and Yoohyeon creates her own reality in the dream world- starting with the single moon in the MV What and now finishing at the double moons, (which is a direct reference to the King’s Raid game). Now Yoohyeon has brought Jiu into her kingdom. “Even if I bet all of me for you, and the painful wounds deepen, as though every moment is a dream, I won’t move away from you”. Yoohyeon’s power is stronger than Jiu’s good intentions as well as Sua’s grasp on their fates. However there is one more detail to discuss. In the MV, Jiu is seen lying motionless on the table, however golden butterflies are seen lifting off of her body. This to me shows that even though Yoohyeon committed treacherous actions to Jiu, Jiu’s self sacrificial love for Yoohyeon acted out in giving yoohyeon the choice over her fate has returned a part of Jiu that she lost in fly high, and this part of Jiu is now more golden than ever.

So someone else might have said this by the time I get to it, but first of all, I really love your interpretation of this music video and song. I completely see it, and I really love the idea that the music video and the song are running contrary on purpose because I feel like that's really relatable from a mental health perspective lmao. An alternate interpretation of "PIRI" actually puts this as a tragic/bad ending for the Nightmare series. In "You & I," JiU failed to save Yoohyeon in their first attempt at a ritual, so the members _all_ entered the world of nightmares in the next video, "What." However, when they entered the world of nightmares, they were all separated and trapped in their own worst fears. JiU continued to try and chase Yoohyeon down, but Yoohyeon continued to evade her, almost as if Yoohyeon didn't want to be saved, and JiU was left staring after her wondering where things went wrong. This continues into "PIRI" where the girls have remained separated and are just trying to find something to hold onto in the nightmares. Yoohyeon finally sounds a call for help, reaching out for her friends, but you'll notice the instrument she uses is the horn, not a piri (which is a vertical flute). However, as JiU realizes near the climax of the music video, the monster that has been chasing them and trapping them in the nightmare isn't the spider queen who cursed Yoohyeon back in "Fly High" and took her in "You & I," nor is it Yoohyeon even though Yoohyeon was fleeing JiU. The thing trapping them in the nightmare world is JiU herself, as revealed when she pulls back the veil. Though she convinced herself that she was going to save her friend, JiU was the one who originally allowed Yoohyeon to kill the spider in "Fly High" and then started to define herself through the act of ostensibly saving Yoohyeon from herself. JiU realizes there is no way out of the nightmare world because she subconsciously doomed herself with her savior complex, so it's my personal belief that the thing which keeps scaring the other members and pulling them in is JiU revealing the truth. In the end, all 7 members _become_ nightmares, accepting that there is no way back, but at least they can move forward together without any more lies. (This kind of fits with the double meaning of the piri being a signal for help and also being the instrument which is referred to in stories like the pied piper, where the flute lures people in and won't let them leave.) "Breaking Out," a Japanese song, provides an alternate ending to this series, though, which is slightly more uplifting.

DG i'am impreDG I am impressed by your analysis each time you are very close to the message you cannot really join the MV's between them and do not see the global connection. but individually you understood each MV. congratulations it's not easy and very cryptic as a story. DC just posted a message that looks very much like an enigma for their next comeback in 2 weeks, a new series or trilogy is coming and I can't wait.

Yay Piri. My fave Dreamcatcher song. The way I loosely interpret a lot of this stuff may not match other lore fanatics, but here's my two cents. I always thought it was kinda funny that the song is called Piri (a reed flute), the song has a flute in the instrumental (but not a Piri), and in the MV is featured a traditional horn. I always interpreted "Blow the Piri" to refer to blowing the horn that Yoohyeon touches in the beginning. Horns like that were used as alarms or war signals by soldiers. That combined with the very military march style snare drums throughout the song makes me think that this song is a sort of call to battle. If You and I was about everyone but Yoohyeon escaping the nightmare and What was about the other 6 trying to live normal lives in the real world, but can't because they keep seeing Yoohyeon everywhere and it's affecting their mental health. Then Piri is about the 7 going to fight their personal fears and vulnerabilities in order to reunite in the nightmare, as 7, so that they can all get out together this time. The ending shot is all 7 girls holding hands in the darkness showing that they are together again, but not safe yet. The last piece of the series is "Breaking Out" which is not exactly their most subtle title haha.

I wonder if Gahyeon was trying to make a phone call? Like she was trying to call for help, but she literally couldn’t talk about it. Having dozens of lifelines right there but being unable to use them sounds like something out of a nightmare. 😱

I'm more towards the theory that Piri is related to BEcause. This scene 22:12 is kinda like the intro to everything that happens in BEcause MV. SuA mirror scene in here and BEcause MV. The dolls scene also appearing in both MV. And the whole idea about doppelgangers in BEcause MV that got teased here by JiU watching the TV that shows two JiU on the other side. What if that they didn't fear themselves but instead, they fear of them getting replaced by their doppelgangers? What if they don't run away from themselves, but from their doppelgangers? What if this whole things never ends, no matter how long you've been running? So Handong frustrated and throw the useless clock? You can't call for help from getting out of this situations, just like Gahyeon. When BEcause MV came out, I just instantly thinks about Piri and the similarities between them. Idk, maybe I'm just streching too much
