Wow, I feel dumb for not knowing that there was a Japanese version of What. I prefer the song in Korean but like the Japanese MV more.

Honestly, I think the Korean version is a little better.

I'm more used to the Korean one, but I like that the Japanese has more Handong 😍

I always feel like I notice Handong more in the Japanese version than in the Korean ones. I know Sunny Visual is more about storytelling than other production companies, but they seem to have this subconscious bias towards using Handong as a set piece, rather than a member, so much so that even if you see her during her own part, she's rarely singing her part. And, since she has so few lines to begin with, it makes her stand out way less than the other members. Even after she came back you'll notice she may be on screen more but she still is rarely singing and when she is the shot is being edited in such a way that is distracting. Like I said, though, I don't think this is an actual bias on Sunny Visual's part, I just think Dongie is the unfortunate victim to their artistic vision.

I agree with that. I love that Handong gets featured more prominently in the Japanese version of What. The same is not true for Piri, sadly 😢

@@MayDawney Breaking Out is probably one of the best Dongie videos for me, screen time wise, because she's looking into the camera and singing every time she's on.

Also, just because I've been noticing these things lately, Sunny Visual's clear favorite is Jiu.

For sure! It kind of makes sense in that JiU fits the Korean beauty standard the most and she is the oldest/leader, and Dongie is Chinese, which doesn't go over extremely well in SK, but it still totally sucks.
