"What" is still in my top 3 favorite title tracks. It's heavy for a Korean release and I love the syncopation in the second half of the chorus. Story-wise this is the first time they wear non-uniform outfits, which I believe is because they lost Yoohyeon (or at least her spirit) and are kind of broken. You can also see them search for her alone, not as a group. For me this is a song about the loss of a loved one and what that does to a group or family. I might be reaching, but this is the meaning for me. "Piri" is the last part of the Nightmare Arc (their Japanese release "Breaking out" can be seen as an alternative ending). In "What", the girls have been searching for Yoohyeon, and here they find each other again, but in the end they are all stuck in the white dimension. A Piri is a Korean flute that was used historically to signal danger, and that is what Yoohyeon does here when the members arrive. She is the one capturing them one by one, to rescue them and bring them to safety. They are together in the end, but still stuck. Dreamcatcher don't do happy endings. 😉

You're one of my favorite reactors when It comes to dreamcatcher cus yes you can obviously appreciate the visuals, the choreography, them as people in general, which I know you do! But what I love most about your videos is what I feel sometimes isn't appreciated as much as it deserves is the freaking music. Like this is something that spoke to my soul growing up in the 90s she continues to today. Their the continuation that we never got from Evanescence mixed with Garbage and sprinkled with some Spice Girls. But from South Korea in kpop form. Sounding just as good if not better than youd expect.

They sampled that KSHMR whistle (from sound of Kshmr vol. 2) so good, everyone that knows Dreamcatcher thinks of this song (Piri) when they hear that sound, even though multiple groups out there sampled the sound too.

dreamcatcher \:D/ nothing better than a double reaction :D now that you are done with their 'nightmare' series, I'll shed some light on what it's all about since the lyrics are very abstract. instead of thinking of a nightmare in the literal sense as in a bad dream, the nightmare they are referring to are hardships one goes through in life. everyone goes through a rut in their lives and sometimes in the darkest moments you can lose yourself. that's why you see a lot of duplicates and mirrors in these videos, to show how scary it can be to see yourself from the outside looking in. their message which is recurring throughout their discography is to stay positive and true to yourself. as an addendum to the nightmare series, 'endless night' which you also shouldn't skip ;), has more straightforward lyrics anyone can understand and relate to. ps, dreamcatcher will have a new album in 18 days. they said it's a totally new sound but that's nothing new since all their songs combine different aspects of music so they always feel fresh. you only mostly heard the rock/metal side but they have a lot of cool songs outside these genres.

Besides their talents, the production team is the real mvp. And we can appreciate the fact that among the production team are the members of Dreamcatcher themselves. Jiu, Dami are mostly credited to the writing and composing. Other members too in some of their songs. So in real words, they are also mvp.

On their first album for the Apocalypse Trilogy, Save Us, every member has writing credits. Dami has more writing credits than any other member, plus she composed and arranged some of her own stuff.

Thank you for another great DC reaction! I'm getting curious what your reaction will be to their b-sides though, because those usually contain other genre's (edm, drum and bass, jazz, funk, even a bit of a reggae beat), and then there's their awesome ballads. Yeah I don't usually like ballads either, but they just make any genre work for me. My first recommendation would be Red Sun.

Always a pleasure to watch you discovering Dreamcatcher's songs! I love their approach to pop/rock music, they've reached a point where they could try to blend any music genre with any type of rock and it would fit perfectly in their discography, and not knowing what they'll try next makes their comebacks all the more exciting... And we'll get a new mini album the 22nd of this month! Also I was going to re-watch your reactions to the previous Nightmare songs (Chase Me, Good Night, Fly High, You And I) but I can't seem to find them, did they get blocked?

Love both MV'S and song. Dreamcatcher has no bad songs. All thier b-sides sound great and different. Check out Endless Night (Japanese release)

Looks like you have almost finished reacting to DreamCatcher's Nightmare Series. There is one Japanese release on a channel called Pony Canyon. The song called 'Breaking Out' is the 'alternate ending' or 'good ending' according to one of the members (I think it was Main Dancer SuA who said that but my memory is crap). 'Breaking Out' really ties the series up very nicely, imho. :)

Love your reactions as always, will you take a recommendation though? It would be better for your channel or for yourself to personally learn each singer in this group dreamcacher, they have a 7 members, One thing In k pop particularly the girl group that each member has each own character and voice, which gives more depth to them, trust me you will even love them more than their music, if you would care to delve each member, that goes to other group you might want to react in future of your channel

Considering how long it took you to get to these songs, I'd say you're overdue for a deep dive into Dreamcatcher. Their song writing team changed last year when LEEZ ended his partnership with Ollounder and left the company (bet there's a story there). Bon Voyage is the first Dreamcatcher song that is all Ollounder. I've always thought he was the rocker of the pair since he plays guitar, base, and drums while LEEZ was the keyboard guy. Can't wait to see what Ollounder's got for us in their next comeback which is on November 22nd.

Oh..I thought many Somnia know about why LEEZ left DCC & KQ. Actually LEEZ left both Dreamcatcher & Ateez company because he signed an exclusive contract with Hi-hat Entertainment as Music Director. With that contract, he can't work with DCC, KQ and other k-pop company anymore without permission from Hi-hat Entertainment. Before this, he was a freelancer music producer. Which is why you can find his work in many more group other than Dreamcatcher & Ateez...
