I caught a 5 lber and didn’t quite react like this mostly because I was by myself. But I did get my dad out a couple weeks later and saw him catch one a couple ounces bigger and I think I reacted like this. Dad was not a fisherman, he just wanted to spend time with me. NC in the building!!! I love this video. When I was about 12 years old my dad took me to a vacant lot out in the woods where we could fish off of a cliff on lake Norman. We were fishing on the bottom for cats. Using shiners for bait. We threw out like 4 rods and watched a movie in his little homemade camper. I went out to check my line and caught a 10.2 pound largemouth bass. No cell phones back then with cameras and no way to keep it alive or on ice for the weekend to get it mounted. I’ll only have the memory.

I caught a nine and a half pounder on lake Norman under one of the marinas crappie fishing. I hooked a crappie that was over a pound and the bass came up and tried to eat it. I let the bass keep hitting it until it got tired of it, but couldn't hook the fish. I pulled the crappie out and put it in the live well. Went back to the spot threw back in an next cast hooked the bass. But it hit just like a crappie so I didn't think anything of it until I saw it and it went wild on my ultra light with four pound line. He pulled out a bunch of drag and was jumping in different stalls than the one I had hooked it in, and a guy fishing with me jumped out and ran down the dock and grabbed it in one of the other stalls. It's still my pb and we had the same reaction after that fish. We ended up keeping it alive bringing it to his house where we weighed it on his scales ( he was a meat processor in his spare time) took some pics and let it go in his pond. So I understand your excitement over that fish. Once in a lifetime type deal.
