Dreaming of the giant salmon

October 2011: Anton Åkerström moves from Umeå in Sweden to Alta in the far north of Norway. Little does the fairly keen angler know that he´s moved to salmon fishing´s Mecca. Together with fishing guide Niklas Högstedt he develops his interest in sport fishing and in particular salmon fishing.
In this documentary film from 2013 we follow novice Anton in the hunt for his first giant salmon. Under the finest possible conditions he gets the chance to learn the secrets of salmon fishing in famous beets Mikkeli, Langstilla and Ner Sierra in river Alta. We meet fellow angler Per Tronde, an experienced fishing guide from Östersund and we have the opportunity to witness the almost unbeatable surroundings and nature of river Alta.
