Im trying to verify Solms claims about the brainstem being the seat of consciousness. Are there specific articles that specifically confirm his findings? Im looking over the articles that you posted. They don't seem specific enough.

Sorry for slow response! I am back uploading now. Here is an article www.frontiersin.org/journals/psychology/articles/10.3389/fpsyg.2018.02714/full

Freud had a significant amount of theoretical nonsense because he needed hypotheses to hang his reputation on. I doubt that he actually studied normal folks, nor his own dreams. When I began writing my dream journal in my mid-20s, I did not approach them from my ego, id, and super ego. I just thought my dreams were straight from my personal unconscious mind. Most dreams consolidated daily activities. Occasionally, I would dream a "big" dream that did not reflect daily activities. Eventually, I was able to use my dreams as a guide to my emotions and feelings. As if my dreams had become my helpmate. I was a typical young adult who went to school and had childhood friends and added new friends as I met them. My behavior was normal. I was not insane, only curious. I'm surprised 😮 that dreams have not been studied scientifically instead of believing Freud's unproven hypothesis of dreaming.

Mark Solms does disagree with Freud on the idea of the Id governing unconscious memories, rather the system unconscious is responsible for this. Regarding dreams, they have been studied scientifically :)
