I'm doing my first tile shower. This will be very helpful. I have the same door and a plastic base. I especially appreciated the nail trick to make sure my drill doesn't walk when I drill through the tile.

We did 90% of the install, then I searched for this and it is great. Goes a little fast, but the one issue was where do all the plastic shims go,? Thin? Thick? Hope we got it right, now on to setting the door. Thanks

Are you installing ALL the plastic shims with the door hinge? Is one thin shim adequate on both sides of the hinge?? I’m having problems with the hinge slipping even after its very tight, got any suggestions?? I feel like I’m getting the hinge very tight and I’m concerned about breaking the glass.

I know. It's been years for you. But I recently install the same type of door hinge and haveling exact same problem as you. Did you ever get the problem solved?

@@marcosuarez8553 My solution was to use super glue and so far 4 years later everything is staying put. Looks just fine.

3:11 Why install the bracket facing inside the shower? By drilling holes in the shower pan, you are breaking the waterproof barrier. Water will get in that hole at the bottom.

How far in should the glass be on the base? Looks like it goes halfway in.

Vic Padilla you have to measure 36” from the inside corner, that’s where you put a mark. It’s not exactly the middle. Depends on the door size you are installing. If you are installing a 38” door you measure 38” from the corner. Looks like is in the middle but it’s not exactly the middle. You have to make sure that the opening between the two panels is what the manual is asking you to be.
