I think KZbin played up for me as I could hear you but while the video played no illustrations flowed for me to see. But 🙏Claire I got the idea by using the 10sec button. It looks a gorgeous book as I love Disney and your voice was lovely to listen too😄😘🌹

Absolutely beautiful you are so talented. Thomas Kinkaid would have been very impressed with it too. He came to our town several times. There was a shop that carried alot of his work. He was a very kind man. And so so talented. Love your Utube. Watch everyone you do.

I bought the spiral bound book from Amazon UK recently. I don't think any thought was given to the layout, as the spiral eats into a good centimetre of each page and limits your ability to colour. What a shame! Still, it's a beautiful book, like you said.

Wondering if you used watercolor pencil on the water?

Thank you for this rewiew. I'm going to buy this book because I love Disney and Thomas Kinkade art. I want to ask you a question: if I color the black and white page, the original picture behind the page will ruin?
@ColourwithClaire7 жыл бұрын
No you should be fine, just try to colour lightly x
@Jennifer_W7 жыл бұрын
Thank you! You colored a page (wonderfully), so the image behind has not been ruined? This will be my first coloring book and I'm really afraid because I know it's very difficult to color but I want to try the same :)

The paper isn’t great so wetter media might bleed but if you’re careful you’ll be fine. Maybe try using pencils if you’re concerned?

Yes I'm going to buy a set of 72 Marco Raffine's pencils. I know that they are not very professional but they are quite good to start

I just got this coloring book finally after it dropped to like 5 or 6 bucks on Amazon, can't pass that up right. But I'll admit it's a little intimidating how sooo detailed and micro lined etc it is. I want to start but it's like uhm. Where and how lol. Also the paper seems super thin, and I love my alcohol markers but I'm scared to destroy the reference photo with my markers ghosting. Hmm. So I'm excited to see your thoughts on this, soo much! Thank you

Try a layer of smooth gesso, should act as a barrier to your markers xx
@unboundbytiffany2 жыл бұрын
@@ColourwithClaire thank you my dear, all 3 of my gessos leave a tooth behind though but if I feel like actually going through the extra work and sanding etc I'll def. Give it a try. Just been avoiding it because it's a process in itself lol not to mention hard with a rambunctious 17 mo old tryna get into everything I do hahaha. But hey after I can color him jkjk

Can you use markers on this book? The ones I have are non bleed through but I wasn’t sure how they would hold up because of the lack of thickness of the paper.
@ColourwithClaire4 жыл бұрын
I would be very careful of using wet media because of the thin paper

I purchased 2 of these books, one for me and one for my dtr (27) and the ONLY reason I purchased them were because they were Disney and she collects that kind of stuff (I bought mine just because I was interested in coloring it lol) Anyway, I tried, I REALLY did, to make a go of it. It's too fussy for me :( and I'm not quite professed enough to fill in backgrounds just yet lol. My daughter hasn't touched hers (no desire to color). The paper seemed too slick, but then again, I only use colored pencils so maybe another medium would work. Now, the reason I only bought the book is, like I said, its Disney. Thomas Kinkade, on the other hand, was a fraudulent, womanizing, alcoholic that had his interns do most of his work. As an artist myself, this was appalling to me, a blatant abuse of their naivete'. I have a feeling mine will end up in the bin.
