The Secrets of Coloring by Jennifer Zimmermann | Review

I have a question which books are better the Helen Elliston one's or the Jennifer Zimmermann one's? What the difference between both of them? Which is the best one for beginners?

I know this comment is from a couple of years ago but I figured I'd answer anyway lol! I'd say that if you can follow the tutorials in this book then you should also be able to follow the ones in Helen's book as well. But it also depends on what you're looking for. There are flip through videos of Helen's books so that might help you to decide. I don't really want to suggest one person's book over another because both Jennifer and Helen did a wonderful job creating their books, I think it's a matter of which one you prefer. This is just my personal opinion but honestly I'd love to have all of Jennifer's and Helen's tutorial books!

Colour with Claire yes, I know it’s not something you do or anyone else for that matter. Thankfully now we can se what we are buying since we usually buy this kind of books online we can’t see previously so we can make a good decision. I only buy books that I saw the reviews, unless is a book from a author that I’m used to, like Johanna Basford, Hanna Karlzon etc. Thanks again for this new version of the review. 😉

Lílian, I'm very sorry for the frustration the camouflage caused. It was my initial suggestion (as some print -based reviewers will not show the contents of a tutorial guide as a means of protection), and I didn't imagine it causing such an issue in video form. Claire was just doing what I asked, and she was kind enough to remove and re-post this video. I thank you for your honesty as our goal is to give colorists a glimpse of what they will be purchasing.

Thank you for this review of a book showing techniques to take your coloring to the next level. I have been looking for a book and trying to find one that gives the most comprehensive instruction to take your coloring to the next level. So many do not do voice overs explaining how or why they do what they or are so fast it makes comprehension difficult. May you have wonderful holidays. Much appreciation. Maria

This author is so compulsive about protecting her copyright. One person said they bought one of her books to review online and found out she couldn't because of all the legal mumbo jumbo! You would think she would want her books in the public eye!
