Thank you for presenting Duane W. Rimmel, an author who, I believe, is one that I have not heard of before. HPL's influence is large in weird fiction.

Re: the 'AI' voice that a portion of viewers don't seem to enjoy: I could take it or leave it, BUT, the one thing that particularly bugs me is the audible full stops enunciated by the AI where, in the written version, obviously only a line break was present... LIKE: 'He was naturally sus. Picious of the old book. In this late hour, nothing but the set. Ting sun disturbed him.' (That's a hypothetical example, but you get it, right? Fixing that alone would help a LOT... Yet,I DO continue to listen olto the channel, and have 'grown accustomed to [its] voice'. It is generally curated, with a good selection of stories, and I do enjoy these com. Pilations. Cheers!

Don’t mind the voice. It’s perfectly fine.

@@alexmartin3143 Well... If this were the first/only vid I had listened to from this channel, the voice would really bug me. But, now it's associated with this channel's good content in my mind, so I'm all for keeping it.

Had just read about RImel in the 1980 edition of then AD&D owner TSR's Deities & Demigods which includes the Cthulhu mythos prefaced w/a surprisingly detailed summary of HPL & his works including a long list of collaborators, some w/unfamiliar names like Rimel. Opened YT & BAM: The Cthulhu Mythos of...Rimel. Thanks, CABH!

The Yith are stinking rad!

They are the most horrifying creatures Lovecraft ever dreamt up. I wish some good modern writer would do something with them. Quantum physics with collapsing wave forms and alternate timelines could add new depths to them.
@ominous-omnipresent-they2 ай бұрын
@@rangda_prime I've always considered them intriguing and almost relatable.
@rangda_prime2 ай бұрын
@@ominous-omnipresent-they Every time they appear in suffer cataclysmic disaster. Then again, my perspective is to not take any of the information they tell the protagonist of The Shadow Out of Time at face value. Lovecraft was after all the master of the unreliable narrator device. In light of that I like to looking at what is told from different angles and when doing that with the Yith - who in their propaganda still call themselves "The Great Race" - the picture I see chills my blood.
