"The House in the Valley" is a short Cthulhu Mythos story by August Derleth, first published in the July 1953 issue of Weird Tales.
It only mentions Hastur briefly, describing the Great Old One as bat-like and imprisoned in the vicinity of Aldebaran by the Elder Gods. The narrator associates the revolt of the Great Old Ones with the Christian War In Heaven between the angels, believing it to be a corruption of Christian belief.

I hope you will read "The House on Curwenstreet" and the rest of "The Trail of Cthulhu" for us as well. Derleth is as close you can get to Lovecraft as possible. You already read "The Keeper of the Key" (nr. 4) now we are waiting for the rest of The Trail of Cthulhu. Thanks for the uploads and all the best from Holland.

I did not hear them describe cloven sunfish smells when cthulu got blowed up. i would have expected that if i was present.

anyone else have a dream where millipedes are tearing you apart from the inside out, but at the same time are holding your body together, and the closer you get to a building, the faster they eat? or is it just me?

@@DQ2121 Your sarcasm is subtle,yet it's coming through pretty strong. Nice. Really, I shouldn't devalue,degrade or deny T~Swizzle and her enormous talent for writing a song. Obviously she has many songs, but really it's just the one. You know it. The one where she loved the guy....so hard. Then the guy broke Taylor's poor heart. BASTARD! But she's going to show him...by being a woman that designs,writes and performs music primarily targeting tween/teen girls. Kinda sus being 35 or so yet her audience ages out and Taylor never seems to mature. Kinda reminds me of that dead eyed,rubber faced hoor Madonna when she first started. Take a look at your future T~Swizzie. Relegated to a foot note while looking like the Saw puppet and Marilyn Manson combined. I've said too much. Surely a whole battalion of battle hardened Swifties are marching towards me to exact revenge. Please. Somebody tell my mom that I always knew that she regretted adopting me. Tough shit mom. I agree completely, and it's only part 2 of "The Trail of Cthulhu". I hope CABH will read the other parts also for us. Derleth is the closest you can get to Lovecraft as possible.
