The reason I love the value resorts, particularly pop century and art of animation is that I get to stay onsite, getting those perks, at a cheaper price. I also like that the value resorts are more compact than most moderate hotels with only one bus stop. I think the bus service to pop and AoA are better than the moderates and even some deluxes because those hotels have dedicated buses. I also love the people at values and the cast members! Everyone is just excited to be there! Pop century and AoA are connected by a bridge which is great since you can go to the other food court for variety. And tables in wonderland works at these quick service restaurants (including rapid refill mugs - you can get 20% off the mugs!!!).

In September 2020, my husband and I will be staying at The Pop Century Resort. My husband and I chose The Pop Century because of The upcoming Skyliner. We booked our week long Walt Disney World vacation through you (Dreams Unlimited). Thanks ABunches for giving us Mary Tesh as our agent. We will ALWAYS book ANYTHING Disney with your company and HOPEFULLY we'll have Mary Tesh as our agent! My Best Friend is going to WDW in August 2021and staying in Art Of Animation(Hopefully). I told her about your WONDERFUL company but she has a friend that's a travel agent.

I like what Tracey said about thinking of Disney as a city. When staying in a city what kind of hotel would you choose? That is perfect to tell friends and family when helping them plan.

I also love the Art Animation food court, we stay at POP but walked to the AofA food court, cleaner and more options.

I’ve stayed at values, moderate, and deluxe hotels- my kids say the values are their favorite! I think it’s the theming, better food courts, and the pool side games (have engaged them more at values for some reason. )😄

My first trip to Walt Disney World was in Nov 2013 we decided to book last minute so we stayed at Movies. It was a great experience. Resort is beautiful and clean and CM's were friendly. In July of 2014 we celebrated my bday and stayed at POR and fell in love with the resort. Oct 2015, Pop we enjoyed our stay and we came to the conclusion that we were rarely in our room, only to shower and sleep. We have only used the pool once in every trip. We figure we can stay at Pop and save and go every year. Can't wait for our coming Oct -Nov Trip

We usually stay at Pop , but on one trip we tried Animal Kingdom Lodge and I felt guilty about wasting the money since we were never in the room. We sleep in the room and spend most of the time in the parks so value works just fine.

We stayed in Pop and didn't find the bus ride anywhere that bad. It wasn't like a 20-30min ride. Maybe 10mins. But it honestly didn't feel like that long. The food was good. No complaints. Not gourmet but good. I don't think it's comparable to a Motel 6. It's a lot higher quality than that in my opinion more like Hampton Inn ish.

My humble opinion is to just get a cheap room when coming to Disney if you are a Park person. I have spent between $200-$900 a night for a room and stayed in the rooms an avg of less that 8 hours. If you are coming for the Parks, go cheap.

Christian Armstrong I totally agree. We are AP holders and while I love the beds at the moderates, I can't justify the price six times a year.

Put as a park person, the Extra Magic Hours are nice, having a greater level of faith in the upkeep and cleanliness and just that little bit of "magic" make the idea of staying on property worth it.

I agree. Last trip to Disney We stayed in Animal Kingdom Lodge and as wonderful as that hotel was we simply didn't stay there long enough for it to be worth it. We pretty much just spent all our time there sleeping. Most of our time was spent in the parks.

We love Pop Century. It was the way we could stay for 11 days, and do signature dining and a lot of extras. But we visited most of the Deluxe Resorts and ate at their restaurants. My daughter LOVES the 80's area and when I asked if she wanted to stay at any of the other locations we visited she said no. So yes we are poor. But I saved for years and had the choice of a shorter stay at a deluxe or a much longer stay at the values. As was said we only needed a place to rest. And my daughter loved the bus rides (the long time gave her some quick nap times on my shoulder). So we WERE able to do almost as much as any resort stay elsewhere. And POP has a good food court. She loved the Mickey waffles (and she doesn't like waffles).

The shared bus situation at the All Stars is especially annoying at the end of the night when everyone is tired and just wants to sit down. Particularly if you're staying at the All Star Movies resort, which is the furthest out.

In your review of Pop Century you forgot to mention the pool bar ping pong tables tic tac toe games . A little more is offered than some of the other results but most of all transportation is direct to the parks no other stops and max time to any parks is 15 minutes which is wonderful for those of us who want to be in the theme parks everyday.

We stay in value resorts so we can spend extra $ elsewhere and because we spend most of our time AT the parks.

something they also didnt consider is some people might have 5 kids and are coming from overseas like us Sydney to London and stopping in orlando to break up our flights that are 30 ish hours to london, when we are taking 5 kids to Hawaii, LA, Orlando, England and scotland for 6 weeks, we need to try do things a little cheaper, our flights are 18K, Disney stay even in Value is about 8k plus spending etc etc, and to me our resort is simply a place to shower and sleep, id rather not have the little magic and go on a longer trip, id rather backpack for a year, than live in luxury for a month :)

The bus drop off for the All Stars goes: Sports, Music, Movies. I have stayed at Sports, Movies, and PoP. I prefer Sports. I like that it is the first stop. I also like that is is smaller than PoP.

I stayed at Art of Animation in February myself and my entire family absolutely loved it. From the moment we pulled into the parking lot we were all WOWED by the theming of the buildings. This only got more intense as you enter the check in area. Both my kids commented how we could just stay in the lobby and still not see everything there is to see. We stayed in a Lion King suite and it truly felt as though we were immersed in the movie. From the large statues and theming leading into the building, to the incredible theming inside the building and especially the room itself. Was great that my wife and I had our own private bathroom and bed away from the kids and they enjoyed this as well ; ) My daughter LOVED the murphy bed; she thought it was the coolest thing. My son was ecstatic that he got his own bed, in the pullout couch in the main living room area. The dining was excellent, perfect for what we needed. Whether just grabbing a drink or a quick meal either after visiting the parks or before it was generally quick and easy. Although I will admit there was a couple of times as we were passing thru the dining area did look crowded. We also enjoyed the "order in menu" and took advantage of it twice while staying there and both the pizza and chicken wings were delicious and brought to us in a timely manner considering where we were. The bus service was again hit or miss depending on timing but seemed very efficient and did not spend too much time waiting or traveling to and from the parks. Can't say that we took advantage of the pools or game room as it just didn't fit into our park hopping but we did venture into both and they seemed great. I totally agree that the gift shop area was excellent. We bought most of our souvenirs from the location mostly out of pure convenience but they had a great selection and had plenty of helpful staff. There was one amenity that you failed to mention in you podcast and that was the "movie under the stars" which was a nightly showing of Disney favorites on a large screen outdoors. I can't remember if it was every night or just select nights but definitely worth mentioning. Over all this was a great resort and I could not have asked for a better first time experience for my kids at WDW.

I'd rather stay at a value resort and manage to squeeze in a few extra days from the savings. I'm also one to only really be in my room to sleep. I might spend a day at the hotel and go to Downtown Disney (I'm old school) but its still relaxing and totally worth the extra days.
