This song came out a few months after my father's death. I was a true Daddy's girl, very close to him. But , just like in this song, I was a trouble child, I was the 'miracle baby that wasn't supposed to be', so I basically did anything I wanted , had anything I wanted. When I became an adult, we had our troubles but we were still two peas in a pod. We'd had a small falling out and we hadn't talked in 2 weeks at one point but one day he called me at work because he needed information about something. I knew it must have cost him a lot to ask me so I said I would find it and call him back. Took a while so when I called him back, he had gone on an errand so I said I would call him back as soon as I got home. When I got home around 4h30, I thought about calling him right away but I decided to get dinner started first, put it in the over and then I would call him. Wouldn't take me more than an hour at most. I was putting the finishing touches when my phone rang. I looked at the clock, it was 5h10. I knew he was calling me. When I answered, it was my uncle. My father had had a major heart attack and the paramedics were trying to revive him. I dropped everything and I went to my parents' house but he never came back. I never talked to him again. In Feb of this year, it will be 20 years. And yet I still haven't forgiven myself for not calling him right as I came home, just so I could've heard his voice one last time. So this song destroyed me when it came out.

Believe me when I say that is to the day when you have to say goodbye my mom’s last nite on earth I brought here dinner the nite before gave her a kiss she told me she didn’t feel good and I shouldn’t kiss her I told her mom I’ll always give a kiss no matter what kisses her and she lied back down and that was the last thing and time we talked she passed in 05 and it’s still hard to deal with today so if your mom is still here give her a kiss and tell her that you love her because you never know when the lord is gonna take her 😢

I'm an only child... you don't get away with shit! LOL... there is no one to blame it on 🤣 Everyone would always say... "yeah but you're probably so spoiled" uhhh I had my moments, but we were broke broke when I was a kid. Not like kids now that say things like "we can't even go out to dinner we have to cook at home. No, we were the kind of broke where you make concoctions out of whatever as in the fridge, freezer, or pantry... and it did not always go well. HAHA, but here I am, 33 and I understand the value of a dollar. I remember when my career really started taking off and I was making good money and it sounds SO simple, but the moment that it clicked to me that I was doing OK financially was when I filled my gas take on my car with out even thinking about what I had in the bank. moments like that showed me that while it didn't happen over night... I put in the work and it made it happen for myself. Also, What I consider "Home", like where I'd come for long weekend and holidays in college was always my grandparents house... I actually lived with them my senior year in college. So, when I moved into my very first appointment it was about 4-5 miles from Granny and Papa's house... so if I was getting broke broke, I'd just go have dinner with them and as most grandparents do they tried to send everything that wasn't nailed down home with me. LOL My Granny passed in March, but my Papa still does that. My family all live with in walking distance of each other. so I ride the golf cart down to see my Papa everyday... my dog (he was my granny's but I got custody of him and Papa... I'll let you guys which is better behaved. HAHA) But Jack (dog) love riding on the golf card so if I get down to Papa's and he's sitting on the back porch he always talks to him before we get in the gate and gets him so riled up. It's cute. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
