I second the request for Blake Shelton’s God Country. Not a fan of country music normally but I like Blake Shelton.

It's not based on Blake's life. His mother is alive and he only had 1 brother who passed away at age 14, Blake was 24. It's just a good song.

At my Mom's funeral the preacher was talking about how proud Mom was of her children and she really didn't have a favorite. Me, my sister and our older brother all three said at the same time, oh yes she did as we were pointing to our baby brother. Baby brother just smiled cause he knew it was true. A light funny moment at that time. This song makes me cry big tears!

Great Reaction to a Powerful Song....... It hits harder for me cause I'm the "Baby of 5 Boys" who lives 1200 miles away and mom is 88 Years Young..... Blake's "Break-Out Song" was a song called "Austin".......

This is one of the few country songs where the loved one passes before they can say goodbye. It makes it hit so much harder that it goes against the norm like that.

This is so sad and beautiful at the same time. I been there. My mom died and I was not able to be there. I was her baby. I was the youngest of three. I had my two brothers. one was 15 years older than me. and the other 10 years older than me. She wanted a little girl so bad, and she finally got her (me) at the age of 40 years old. So, I was really her baby. This song hit me very hard. Love your reactions! ♥

As long as I have been playing music and singing I had never heard this song. It got to me as I did the same thing years ago as my dad called to tell me your grandpa is in the hospital as not doing well, get here fast. I was late as it was 50 miles from home to him. He was my rock. I lived with him and grandma, on there farm for five years through high school and after. Yep, young men do cry as well.

This song hits hard. I lost my mom on Christmas day 20 years ago this year and the heartbreak is as fresh as the day it happened. And yes, I am the baby boy in the family with 2 older sisters. I it's true, I did get away with a heck of a lot more than they ever did.

Now you should watch the official video of Blake's song "Some Beach," which is also one he did a few years back. No tears in that one, but definitely a smile or two. If you just let the title roll around on your tongue a couple of times, you can probably figure out where he's going with this one.

Phil and Sam, there is a very important Shelton song you must react to! A teenage Blake lost his big brother to a car accident. While married to country artist, Miranda Lambert, he wrote “Over You” about his brother. Powerful! Knowing it would be too difficult to perform…Miranda recorded. The song and the video is a must to witness. Please react to: Miranda Lambert - Over You.

Even though my mom is still me. This is the song she picked for me and her to dance to when she and my dad renewed their vows. Edit I am the youngest of three and I did get by with more. My brother and sister use to have me go ask to do something because they knew if they asked they would get a NO but if I asked I would get a YEAH HAVE FUN lol. And I once said I’m a grown man blah blah blah and she said those exact words no matter how old you are you can be 80 you’ll always be my baby.

You can also see that hair in his his song "Goodbye Time". Some people don't know that it was a Conway Twitty cover. I think that song is under-appreciated nowadays. Don't know why people don't mention it when recommending early Blake hits.

Blake has some great songs. Some funny songs and some serious ones. “Ol Red”, “Austin” “Boys Round Here”, “Honey Bee”, “I’ll name the dogs”, “Some Beach”, “The More I Drink”, “She Wouldn’t Be Gone” & “Kiss my Country Ass “ are some great ones. I know I’m missing some of his hits. 4:09 try having a mother that was the baby in her family and a younger sibling. My little brother got spoiled so much.

Home (with Michael Buble), God’s Country (amazing, different!), Some Beach (funny), She has a way with words (funny and clever), I Ole Red (you’ll love the storytelling), and many more. His mom is still alive and apparently he has a wonderful stepdad - he said he was emulating him, taking his role of bonus dad to Geen Stefani’s boys very seriously.

It's not about his Mom, at least the death part, since his mother is still alive today and co-produces some holiday movies with him. :) Not sure how much of it is autobiographical (or if he even wrote it). Maybe someone else knows.

This is a great song. For a fun one from his early days, check out the video for 'Ol' red'. For mature Blake, check out one of his duets with his wife Gwen Stefani, from 'No Doubt'. My fav is 'Nobody but you' He also has other fun ones like 'Boy's round here' (also a fun video). He also has a great song written by Hardy, called 'God's Country'.

I know just how you feel, Sam. I have trouble with leaky eyes syndrome when I hear this song too. lol Blake Shelton has some real tear jerkers. But he also has some really upbeat tunes also. However, I thought I'd suggest another female artist to give a listen, if interested. "Christina Aguilera - Beautiful (Official HD Video)" (by the channel: Christina Aguilera) --This song is from her fourth studio album called "Stripped" released in 2002. It was written and produced by Linda Perry.
