The Lyrics : He seemed no different from the rest Just a healthy normal boy His mama always did her best And he was daddy's pride and joy He learned to walk and talk on time But never cared much to be held And steadily he would decline Into his solitary shell As a boy he was considered somewhat odd Kept to himself most of the time He would daydream in and out of his own world But in every other way he was fine He's a Monday morning lunatic Disturbed from time to time Lost within himself in his solitary shell A temporary catatonic madman on occasion When will he break out of his solitary shell He struggled to get through his day He was helplessly behind He poured himself onto the page Writing for hours at a time As a man he was a danger to himself Fearful and sad most of the time He was drifting in and out of sanity But in every other way he was fine He's a Monday morning lunatic Disturbed from time to time Lost within himself in his solitary shell A momentary maniac with casual delusions When will he be let out of his solitary shell

Me encanta esta canción. Realmente transmite una sensación de paz, sobre todo cuando la escuchas sólo, con los ojos cerrados y pensando cómo se sentirá un niño con autismo. La melodía da a pensar que es internamente feliz.
@yesec92 жыл бұрын
We autistics certainly do try and craft a safe space and rich inner life that suits us in our own way...but sometimes it is difficult to have it all be compatible with how society works. Families, jobs, etc...we can't escape the fact that we have to sometimes live and survive in everyone elses' world in order to have the means to sustain our own little world with our hobbies and interests. An "impenetrable" solitary shell would mean starvation and death. I need money, and I don't like scamming people, so I have to work, and thus I have to reach my arms out of the shell from time to time through small holes. And always worrying that they hurt my hand when I reach through, but moreso in an interpersonal and emotional sense than physical; I do construction, so I'm hardened to cuts and bruises from work; I'm far more sensitive to social rejection than physical pain. I strongly relate to this song.
