Father's are great, and fun when it comes to parents. They are also the ones to protect the family from problems, but some are the ones to have their own time. Shrek, Donkey, Zuba, and Mr. Peabody are all good DreamWorks father's in my opinion.

@@kaiumeda6341 Again, Stoic was just being over protective. And we learn WHY he was in the 2nd movie. Was it the IDEAL way to go about it? No obviously, he absolutely made mistakes. But he also owns those mistakes, and tells Hiccup as much. And when Stoic faces his own shortcomings, you can see the genuine love and respect he has for the person his son becomes. You also see a alot of this in the animated series (Riders/Defenders of berk and Race to the Edge. And I highly recommend them

Can't leave it unsaid. Po's dad should have been a notch up. Everyone seems to forget that in the flashbacks telling what happened to his mom. It shows him stalling Shen and his wolf's to give them time to escape. He stood against people way above his skill level and should have died in that fight but miraculously survived.

I think Hiccup should be number one. While I really like Stoic, and his relationship improves immensely with his son, I can't forget where he disowned his own boy because he wouldn't follow in his footsteps. And how he disregards Hiccup's wants/needs in the first AND second movie but instead bulldozes him with "chieftain" expectations and not listening to his son regarding Drago Bludvist (Hiccup won't listen to him, either, ik what a shocker) quite literally manhandling his own adult-aged son back to Berk. Then puts him on the impossible task of finding a mythical world supposed to be the birthing grounds of all dragons (aka the creators pulled out the ideas out of their ass and completely forgot that his main goal was to find the nest and eliminate the dragons; not go on some fairytale excursion to unite the Two Worlds. He didn't even like the idea of looking for trolls! Why would he tell his son a fantasy story that he would stupidly take literally?) But yeah Hiccup is a much better dad teaches kids that dragons are friendly introduces them at a young age to his best friend who is willing to guard them with his life.
