I always enjoy your choice of fabrics. I like the bold colors that you choose and the unique patterns. Sometimes you have bright flowers and sometimes geometric patterns. I guess it's just a personal bias but so many KZbin influencers use tiny, tiny patterns insipid pastel colors, that would be suitable more on a 3-year-old little girl than a mature woman! You always look beautiful when you model everything that you wear. And the way you style your garments is always refreshing!

Prints are so personal. I know for a fact that small print pastels make me look very unwell…. So my eyes don’t even see them at the fabric shop 😀

You're such an enabler! Your smile and delight in what you made can sell any pattern. The patter companies should actually pay you a honorarium! I saw this pattern and liked it very much, but didn't yet see your make on the channel, so I hung on a bit. But now it's a done deal. Bought with your affiliate link.🤗😍 If only I could sew as fast as you!

So nice, Karina, and to see you embrace solids as well. They really let your natural beauty shine. As we come into the cooler weather, I can see this in my wardrobe in the tunic length with wool thermal layer underneath and a jacket or vest over the top.

Oh my goodness that 4th outfit with your Closet core skirt is beautiful! Also your blazer with the dress! And the Jean jacket. This Isla top/dress pattern looks like a good one! I’m organizing for my summer sewing I’ll be using your link to purchase.❤ Thanks Karina!

Love the green one tucked into that skirt. That bloused over beautifully. The blue dress looked so comfortable for summer. Belting it defiantly improved the versatility of the otherwise casual swing dress.

I haven't started the Isla top yet but I think it could become my favorite top. I love the gathers at the bust and back, roomy enough for the girls and yet modest. thank you for this great tutorial.

Lovely pattern and fabric pairings. Love the dress, if it was any longer you would look like you were wearing a sack. It's a great dress for women with shapely legs. Yet modest.

Anything with gathers on top looks maternity to me. I could not wear it. You did a great job making the item.
@LiftingPinsandNeedles6 ай бұрын
Not every style is for everyone. We all have preconceived notions about fashion. I feel Zero maternity vibes here. For me, maternity it all about empire cut and gathers all around the body. These gathers are so subtle to make any space for any baby bump.

Hi Karina thank you for all your lovely videos! I'm about to make the Isla: I'm looking at the finished measurements for the Isla on page 6 of the tutorial. The finished waist measurements are in all cases bigger than the bust, which is expected. But the finished hip measurements are the same as the finished bust measurements. Thus smaller than the finished waist measurements. Judging by the shape of the Isla, that seems wrong. Please help. Am I crazy or is there an error in the finished measurements? I notice that in your video you said that there is +5" ease at the hip. This seems in line with the shape of the Isla. Thank you in advance.

If you clicked on the link and purchased, it worked :) I don’t get any type of confirmation for specific buyers on my end though :)
@sabineweber46276 ай бұрын
Beautiful 😊! Do you think this could be done with sleeves too?
@LiftingPinsandNeedles6 ай бұрын
I don’t think so because the finished armhole shape is not normal with the neckline piece. At most you could add a little bias cut ruffle along the top.
@sandraroper98666 ай бұрын
Karina, What do you feel is the best weight fabric for a summer dress, especially when you don’t want to wear a slip under it.
@LiftingPinsandNeedles6 ай бұрын
About 5-6 oz or 140-150gsm :) It also depends on the color.... if it's white, there's no way around lining or a slip.

Do you think the Isla would look OK if the gathers were rotated into darts at the side seams?
@LiftingPinsandNeedles6 ай бұрын
It would change the whole shape of the front. If you know how to do it…. You can try but there’s more ease/gathers than the original dart would generate. I would leave it like it is.

Thanks for info. I will leave it alone😊 Thanks for all the great videos!
