How long did it take you to get your barber license?
@jstn1of15 ай бұрын
So true. I went to a celebrity barber and he gave me a really great cut. I would tip him $60 on top of the $120 fee. However, the professionalism wasn’t there. He canceled my appointment the day of to go to Reno to cut someone of a higher status. The barber I go to now has exceptional service + his cuts are very clean-but he’s no celebrity barber. Goes to show how that human connection and the quality of the service is just as important as the skills.

I’ve been cutting a year and in the shop now bro. I’m 31. Never cut before. I feel like I’m getting way better, but I do take 45 to an hour because I want to get as good as I can because I feel like I’m down 10 years. I’m booked 3 to 4 days a week so far, but only 8 cuts a day I do feel like I’m leaving money on the table, but I don’t find 30 minutes fulfilling. My goal is to become elite first (not sure how long that will take), but I do know I’ll miss out on money until then.

For sure needed this. I’ve noticed that most people love the conversation and environment. We’re not just barbers. We are damn near therapists and someone to talk to while providing a quality haircut!

Thanks Dre. You’re Vida have helped me a lot. I’m about two months in at my first barbershop. It’s walk in city. And a very reputable barbershop in my city. Typically this shop requires at least two years behind a chair but I was lucky enough to get a job outside of school. Another thing I would say is to new barbers is to humble yourself and take constructive criticism with grace. God is good.

I think a haircut should only take seven minutes. We used to have a place called "Cut 6". We'd joke that they only made six cuts to do the haircut. But seriously, the hairdressers didn't take long.
