Mega City One is a vast, violent metropolis where felons rule the streets. Sure he isn’t unknown, but he’s been in Dredd, Star Trek, The Boys, Lord of the Rings, Red, Riddick, Thor Ragnarok, Star Wars RoS(despite how shit it was it’s still high profile), Priest and many more and yet it’s only in the last few years he’s really been noticed so to speak.

It also had the misfortune of having pretty much the same premise as The Raid which came out a year earlier and was universally praised for its action scenes. Although you could argue that cops being trapped in a tall building filled with bad guys hunting them dates back to Die Hard.
