@@Krystalmyth We know that, you're just stating the obvious. This was going next level - what's the world building of the script team like. We have to go by what the bar tender knew. The movie makers shouldn't make the average people to expect robots. It's not that obvious for the bar tender that this was a robot - not in an 80's world. Nowadays some might think that, when we have the experimental humanlie robots in test phases. Here, it was most likely this was a body builder, crazy on steroids and maybe something else. But he likely didn't trust the shotgun to stop the big guy, even if taking a leg out - is how I would accept his behaviour. Just there's also this stupid repeating movie solution: bring the gun within the hand reach. So not everything in this scene is scripted smartly.

It's product placement. Companies give their stuff away and pay the studios to immerse whatever it is they want to market. It's why everyone on tv uses a mac computer, James Bonds various accoutrements, gadgets and car manufacturers are all paying top dollar for a few moments of screen time. Especially if the character using their product is "cool" like the Terminator. It can be well executed and seamlessly integrated into a plot or narrative like in this case, but can also be a little clunky and crass when crow-barred into a shot or conversation, out of obligation to some fast food corp for example. Even Anime movies and cartoons use product placement. Some animators have to draw replicas of the devices and clothing available in reality to advertise. It's trippy.

Sometimes people don't get why he took the shades... In T1 it was obvious, he had to hide the tissue damage. I've seen people saying that T-800 has style preference, but that's not it. He was about to ride a bike remember, and just wanted to have something to protect his eyes, at least the fake ones from from dust and flies falling in, same as human bikers do, so he wouldn't have to clean them. He doesn't need shades for exactly the same variety of reasons as humans, but he's still totally machine rational by taking them.

How about the first time Arnold and the T 1000 fought each other? Did people think Arnold was the bad terminator again,and that Patrick was a resistance fighter? Or did people think they both were evil?
@itubeutubewealltube15 жыл бұрын
@@richiefranklin76 it was pretty obvious by the tone of the movie that arnold was the good terminator at the very beginning. Also, you immediately see the new terminator killing people and had the evil smile way before he fights Arnold. Also, the trailers and media interviews showed all of that but i never considered that a spoiler because of the above reason. The spoiler/twist of the movie was the terminator learning how to be human then killing himself at the end of the movie. No one was really expecting that. It was really sad and had everyone tearing up, but then when he gave a thumbs up everyone laughed and clapped. That was completely kept hidden from the public so it had a huge impact at the end. It felt like Cameron sat down and wrote this in part for people who hadn't seen the first film and jumped straight into this one. They got the basic gist of a Terminators capabilities within 5 minutes: This dude is basically unstoppable to ordinary non-future plasma rifle wielding humans. Funnily enough, this is actually one of the intelligence operative's approaches to "blending in". To do the contrary, to send someone who looks extremely out of place, uncommon. Visual clues tend to attract people, so they will remember more of how the person looked like than what he was after. The fact you are asking this is another pro to this method - "they wouldn't send someone so obvious, right?" is the question frequently asked. In fact, one of the most well-known sucessful CIA foreign operations (I think there is even a movie about it) was to during Iran hostage crisis send a whole team of Americans acting like Hollywood movie makers to the Tehran. They were all white, loud, photographed everything incessantly, clothed in obvious western style and generally acted obnoxious. They went repeatedly through police checks, so later during the operation, local police already knew them and didn't really bothered about checking them again. Operation was success and their cover was blown only after they were out of Iran.
