Now it's all about Blue people with boring stories, rubbish music, CG overload and bringing in 2+ billion. Cool I guess for him but this film was the very height of his excellence as a director, storyteller, human being. He's too old to care about something from 30+ years ago and he's a vegan now that's probably fucked up his brain also

Consider this: the film came out in 1991. Meaning it was shot and edited a year or two prior to that. Just goes to show that all the fancy, modern hi-tech bells and whistles mean nothing if you lack artistic eye and fumble the cinematography.

It’s really the show don’t tell mentality of movie making back then. Put the viewer in the place of the normal person, let us see how the characters interact. This guy doesn’t care that he’s being burnt, he brushes off knives and bats, and he can forcibly grab a gun out of your hands before you can pull the trigger. He is throwing people across rooms and is on a mission.

So he went in threat assessment and determined that there was no damage. In fact he didn’t react, he reacted only when the guy behind him broke the stick on his back. As I said, the details in this movies were amazing. Even more in a time where there was no KZbin, and people where not used to pause movies in search for details like this. Amazing.

@@Krystalmyth We know that, you're just stating the obvious. This was going next level - what's the world building of the script team like. We have to go by what the bar tender knew. The movie makers shouldn't make the average people to expect robots. It's not that obvious for the bar tender that this was a robot - not in an 80's world. Nowadays some might think that, when we have the experimental humanlie robots in test phases. Here, it was most likely this was a body builder, crazy on steroids and maybe something else. But he likely didn't trust the shotgun to stop the big guy, even if taking a leg out - is how I would accept his behaviour. Just there's also this stupid repeating movie solution: bring the gun within the hand reach. So not everything in this scene is scripted smartly.

The sign of a masterpiece is a movie that is timeless. That this movie is over 30 years old is totally mind-blowing, it hasn't lost any of its edge over the years. One of my favourites and certainly one of the best action films ever created. Every single thing about this scene is the definition of badass. There is no fluff to it. Genius stuff, truly.

Such an amazing and well thought out scene. Within 5 minutes you know this guy is immune to pain, can break bones like nothing, can take heavy blunt damage to the head and stab wounds and remain unfazed, wields strength beyond that of any human, can have deadly firearms pointed at him and not care and that his persona is straight to the point with no bullshitting. It felt like Cameron sat down and wrote this in part for people who hadn't seen the first film and jumped straight into this one. They got the basic gist of a Terminators capabilities within 5 minutes: This dude is basically unstoppable to ordinary non-future plasma rifle wielding humans. For fans of the first movie who knew about the T-800 it was just pure power fantasy. Cameron is a genius film maker.

It's product placement. Companies give their stuff away and pay the studios to immerse whatever it is they want to market. It's why everyone on tv uses a mac computer, James Bonds various accoutrements, gadgets and car manufacturers are all paying top dollar for a few moments of screen time. Especially if the character using their product is "cool" like the Terminator. It can be well executed and seamlessly integrated into a plot or narrative like in this case, but can also be a little clunky and crass when crow-barred into a shot or conversation, out of obligation to some fast food corp for example. Even Anime movies and cartoons use product placement. Some animators have to draw replicas of the devices and clothing available in reality to advertise. It's trippy.

JESUS Christ in his natural form is God almighty consisting of potent strong literal holy fire raging from his very being. Was blown away when I eventually saw it on its VHS release and whenever I've seen it since, I'm just as amazed. This will remain an epic masterpiece on so many levels. The grand scale production of the whole thing with a budget dwarfing the first movie was colossal. The cinematography, costumes and the soundtrack theme for each terminator is timeless. Whereas the first one had clear and distinct 80s vibes, this one doesn't seem to be connected to a specific era, it's just way ahead of its time and will never age.

Sometimes people don't get why he took the shades... In T1 it was obvious, he had to hide the tissue damage. I've seen people saying that T-800 has style preference, but that's not it. He was about to ride a bike remember, and just wanted to have something to protect his eyes, at least the fake ones from from dust and flies falling in, same as human bikers do, so he wouldn't have to clean them. He doesn't need shades for exactly the same variety of reasons as humans, but he's still totally machine rational by taking them.

@itubeutubewealltube1
@itubeutubewealltube1 5 жыл бұрын
@@richiefranklin76 it was pretty obvious by the tone of the movie that arnold was the good terminator at the very beginning. Also, you immediately see the new terminator killing people and had the evil smile way before he fights Arnold. Also, the trailers and media interviews showed all of that but i never considered that a spoiler because of the above reason. The spoiler/twist of the movie was the terminator learning how to be human then killing himself at the end of the movie. No one was really expecting that. It was really sad and had everyone tearing up, but then when he gave a thumbs up everyone laughed and clapped. That was completely kept hidden from the public so it had a huge impact at the end. Also, the death of Miles was unexpected as well.

I was born in 92. I saw this movie around 6 years old. This has been my top movie since then (2nd one is the departed). I wish I would've seen the T1 first now so I could have witnessed this twists how it was meant to. Regardless T2 still had a massive impact on me. Fucking love this film.

This and aliens will forever be remembered as one of the greatest sequels ever to the original and two of my favorite movies of all time
