Have you tried taking the Dremel apart and inspecting the central support for the motor body? After a while the vibrations reduce the height of this plastic rib and the motor housing has a fraction of movement that gives off that rattly/buzzy, and NOISY, sound, almost like a bearing is threatening to fail but its actually the motor moving about a fraction. A dress rehearsal or 3 of fitting the unit back together, then a dab or 2 of hot glue on the plastic rib and a quick seating, reassembly and re-mating of the shell halves should see 60%-70% decrease in the perceived noise level. (db prob drops less than this but the tone generated is lower and smoother.)

It is a problem David. I'm constantly having to shuffle things around to make room for all this stuff. But I do love all these tools. Wish I'd had this workshop years ago. Cheers Nobby

Hi Nobby, useful tool for small delicate jobs. I have a 25 year old Woolworths Dremmel copy lol, it's still going after years of abuse! Cheers, Jon
