Bohemian is back at it! After a complete and total dressage disaster with Cathrine Dufour a few years ago he is back at it. You can watch the first disaster here, which led to Cathrine Dufour being eliminated. • Dressage Disaster: Cat...
Patrik Kittel now has the ride on Bohemian as they try to find him a new home. While he is up for sale it is up to Patrik Kittel to show him off to the world. Looks like this seasoned and well-traveled Grand Prix horse has an opinion about what he thinks his future should look like and it doesn't involve riding any more piaffe and passage tours.

I just see the horse spooking at the person with an umbrella coming into shot in the corner. They realise the horse is scared and put it down immediately and then the horse continues.

What ever was he thinking hanging on to the curb like that ? Has he not studied this horses history? He has to be ridden as though the reins are made of cotton. One moment of over pressure and he says no thank you. He has done it with Catrine before. Patrik was also sitting behind the movement not with it. Send the horse to Carl Hester.

we see very clearly that the horse was afraid of the lady with the umbrella and we know that Bohemian is a watching horse, then yes the horse is contracted for the piaffe that follows but it is totally normal since he was afraid just before. it really hasn't been long since pattrick kittel has been riding him and moreover Bohemian was ridden by a very average korean rider previously which caused the horse to get into bads habits... so now we have to stop people who don't don't know much about the difficulties of riding a grand prix with the horse of another rider and who cry for disaster and animal abuse.

I didn't see disaster, i saw a horse giving a very mild protest to how much pressure was being put on them. That horse's neck was being held in a painful and unnatural position that shouldn't be tolerated in professional dressage. These riders are being trained to use a painful and unnecessary practice that judges have allowed to become popular despite the fact that it has been found by veterinarians to be painful and even damaging to the horses. Dressage, properly trained and conditioned for only carries the risk of any athletic competition for injury. Practices are refined when high injury risks are found. This unnatural rolling of the horses neck has been banned before as the pain it causes and the medical risks of injury are already known. It must become something that disqualifies riders. No amount of, but it looks pretty, should be allowed to circumvent the facts of unnecessary stress, pain, and injury to horses, which also increases the risks to the riders. To do otherwise risks all of the integrity of the sport.

@DressageHub You know what, I agree. I made the assumption that the disaster being referred to was the horse not winning, lol. I should have known better and do now after checking out your channel. Patrick never had a very good posture. His upper body under the chest sinks down and the spine curves strongly backwards even more than previously. That leaves him behind the movement! Being behind the movement tends to allways effect the hands too! He obviously Isn't aware of it and how ever steady and quiet hands one might have, the over all Space for the horse's neck stays too short!

It may well have been the tipping point for the horse who was being bullied by the rider to launch his protest. We can all tolerate a certain level of abuse and it take something seemingly unrelated to make us have a break down.

@sarahwagland1559
@sarahwagland1559 10 ай бұрын
If the horse trusted his rider he wouldn't be timid. He's feeling the pressure from the heavy handed rider so all it takes is a little additional pressure for him to freak out. We've all been there. Why do we find it so hard to accept that horses have feelings and react the same way as we do?

@@sarahwagland1559 he did the same to Cathrine who has been riding him for years. She was also disqualified. The video is here on Dressage Hub. He is a kind of spooky skittish horse and probably not used to for the new rider enough. Trust is important, but it is always easy to judge the rider, when you do not know the horse and do not know what is it like, what is behind. Sometimes you just have to take the horse as it is and try to help him to be less scared, knowing, there will always be something too scary. Nobody can convince me, that spiders in my country are harmless. Some of them are ok, most of the time, but suddenly I am about to get heart attack. Why should I expect from horse, who is already distrustfull from hos nature from the ethological point of view, to always fully rely on his rider and ignores what it sees and hears. Horses are not robots.

The horse spooked the woman with an umbrella, it obviously stares at her. Patrik didn't kick or jerk the horse's mouth but sit calmly and the horse could continue. What a DISASTER... not. Seriously, doesn't this channel want to bring real problems to the light? What is the point of this kind of video? If you have ever sit on a horse or even seen one you know they sometimes spook, that is their nature. It doesn't mean the horse is being abused.
