Such a good explanation. I’ve ridden forever but will say that I’ve not had the best hands, and have a tendency to ride and pull backwards. Most horses will say “ok, I pretty much know what you want, so I’ll give it to you”. Even the young ones. My current OTTB, who I love dearly, has really helped me figure out how to ride more nicely with my hands, as he can be absolutely beautiful, or utterly offended with my existence. He’s really helped me unlock the “massage” and not the move the wrist or pull.
